About me

Hello! I am a certified Newborn Care Specialist, certified through Newborn Care Solutions. I’m also a Certified Postpartum Doula through Lifesoan Doula. I’ve worked with over 50 families in the last 4 years doing night care, mostly from 10pm-6am. I’m a mom of two, and have been working with newborns for the last 25 years. I have a gentle approach, with a passion for starting sleep conditioning early, to set your family up for success!

Frequently asked questions

Why does the cost vary so much?

There are a lot of people who are not certified, charging less, who may not have the same level of (if any) education, certifications, and trainings, and are just starting out, trying to gain experience. On the other hand, a lot of agencies are charging $60-$75 an hour for the same service. They have a lot of overhead to cover, and admin positions to pay that a solo NCS can save on.

Does the NCS sleep on the job?

I believe all NCS positions in MA currently have” resting with a listening ear, if possible” as the norm for this position. Awake care is typically double the cost and done in a well lit room separate from the baby, with a monitor. If you prefer awake care, this is something we can offer.

What if I’m breastfeeding?

The NCS will bring your baby to you when your child is ready to eat. We will take care of diaper changes and burping so you can get the most of your sleep. As your baby grows, we encourage you (but certainly don’t push it) if you’d like to pump a bottle or two, so you can get more quality sleep for longer. The NCS will then take care of storing the milk and washing all pump parts and bottles for you.

What if my baby only likes to be held?

With years of experience, one of my favorite things to do is to promote healthy and safe sleep habits from early on. I will show you how to get your baby comfortable in the bassinet/crib, so when your child wakes, they will learn to self soothe, in turn allowing you more sleep in the long run. A lot of nighttime patterns, come from the day, and I love sharing my knowledge of how best to help make your nights a lot smoother. There’s never been a baby I couldn’t help adjust in a safe and caring way, I can promise you that.
