I am 41 years old, recently (and happily!) relocated to beautiful San Diego from the Bay Area. This is my first pregnancy, I am looking for someone who can help me create a birth plan and provide guidance and support to my husband and myself during labor. I am planning to give birth at the Jacobs Medical Center (UCSD). Our budget is in the $2,000–$3,000 range.

My plan is to give birth either at the temecula valley hospital or on base hospital on camp pendleton, my estimated budget is around $6,000-$7,000 for 2-3 months of care. My birth plan is still something i’m working out since i am a first time mom. and im early in my 1st trimester. age to me does not matter as long as they are fully certified in the field, know CPR, and have at least 5-6 years of experience. My baby will be around 2weeks old when i start care so my main concern is that during the night time baby baby is woken up and feed as needed, only cleaning wise that would maybe have to be done is just dishes and washing laundry (not folding just washing and drying)

Birth in Hospital birthing center Aetna Insurance Birth plan: natural birth (not opposed to epidural if pain is unbearable) would like to avoid C-section unless life of baby in jeporady father will cut umbilical cord after all nutrients is absorbed (don't cut for atleast 20-30 mins) want to keep placenta. I need help with feeds, and caring for my 7 month old twins. Staying on schedule with feeds and naps is the most important. I plan to give birth in the Balboa Navy medical hospital. My budget is on the lower side. Birth plan would be calm environment, only my doula, husband, and limited amount of doctors in the room. No student doctors. No episiotomy (unless medically recommended and/or justified), no male doctors, I do have questions about pitocin if the time comes, would like a epidural but birthing position to be hands and knees. I would also like a delayed cord cutting and deliver the placenta on its own time. We would also like my husband to catch the baby and cut the cord.

I have a husband that is very involved and wants to be a part of the process every step and wants help with how to best support me during birth. I do not want pitosin, and I would like minimal interventions as long as everything is healthy. I don't want them to rush me, break my water synthetically, take my baby away from my sight, or cut the cord early. I want to delay Vitamin K shot and maybe get the oral kind if I struggle with breast feeding. I am open to education and will be receptive to evidence based information that is mixed with experience.
