I plan to give birth in a hospital. I am unsure of what my budget is. This is my first pregnancy and it's all new to me and unfortunately the midwife close by to me isn't accepting new patients until the new year.

As an African American woman, I am particularly aware of the heightened risks associated with childbirth, which makes me nervous, so I’m looking for someone who can provide educational support, guidance, and comfort during this time. We have a budget of up to $2,000 and would love to learn about Lamaze techniques and stretches to help with delivery. Though I’d like a home birth, I have realized that it has caused my partner too much anxiety and therefore I’m willing to have a hospital birth and I’m looking for a doula and midwife that can help me have the closest experience to a home birth as possible. I want to come up with a birth plan, share my thoughts and learn what they might suggest that I may not know about hospital births. I would like someone to be there who believes in me and will advocate for a natural birth as much as possible especially when they suggest medical interventions, and I’d like her judgement on whether their suggestions are really necessary. 2. I don’t know prices for as this is my first time looking for one. 3. Natural birth, least amounts of examinations during labor, no induction, willing to go over due date as it is my first baby, delayed cord clamping until cord turns white. No K2 shot and no Hep B shot. I will consider vaccinations after the 2 weeks but at birth I don’t want anything injected in baby. I also want to be able to have open communication when I first go into labor to help me decide when to get to the hospital, I’d like to do most of it at home and have a good meal before I go and having a little bit of guidance would be great. I understand it poses the risk of a home birth if things progress fast for which case I’ll make sure I have what I need at home, and I’d like she can be open to that possibility and coming to our home (by off-chance of course).

I have So many questions. I just found out im pregnant. I want to learn more about mid wife experience vrs the obgyn basic hospital care. I have had 2 children and this will be my 4th pregnancy. I know I also would be interested in post partum coaching

I’m looking for a postpartum midwife to do our postpartum visits/newborn care in our home versus having to go out to offices right away after our birth. We have a low risk unmedicated birth planned at Mount Auburn and are currently being seen by a midwife there. But I am really hoping to transition to at home care for the immediate postpartum period and hold off on baby going to pediatrician office until about 6-8 weeks unless any concerns arise before then.
