Giving birth at Medstar with midwives, unsure about birth plan at this time, not high risk pregnancy, no provider requirements, Tricare East
I plan to give birth in the midwifery unit of the MedStar Washington Hospital in Washington DC. I am looking to have as few interventions as possible and plan to birth unmedicated. I would strongly prefer a doula of Christian faith, though shared faith is not a requirement. I’m only interested in doulas with experience in a hospital setting and would prefer a doula with at least 3 years of experience. Ideally, my doula would also be able to take photographs periodically throughout labour and delivery, though I know this may not be likely. I am not interested in postpartum care.
Hospital birth Looking for someone with experience as a midwife or labor and delivery nurse Still working through birth plan.
This is my first pregnancy/baby and I am terrified of childbirth and labor. upon research I heard that a doula can help provide comfort and emotional support during birth. I am hoping to find a doula to help with that. I will be giving birth at St. Mary’s Hospital in Richmond. I don’t currently have a budget, just looking to find the right match for me. as of right now my birth plan is to try to go unmedicated as I have a spinal fusion and i’m not sure if I can have an epidural. I plan to labor in water to help with the pain.
