Support and guidance for women experiencing a normal low risk pregnancy and birth in Orange County and the surrounding areas. Medical training to manage normal pregnancy, birth and postpartum issues and complications along with a deep understanding and trust in the bodies abilities to grow, birth and nurture a healthy baby. Monitoring mom and baby throughout care to ensure everything remains low risk and if needed making the proper referrals.

Why did you become a midwife?
I became a midwife because I always loved pregnancy, birth and babies. While doing research of my own to plan for future pregnancies, I fell in love with midwifery care and how amazing our bodies are and realizing the maternity system in the hospital was disrupting that amazing design.
What is the transfer rate and what do transfers look like?
My transfer rate fluctuates throughout the years but hovers around 10-15%. Most of these transfers are do to long labors and mom making the informed choice to utilize pain relief or labor augmentation available in the hospital. Most emergencies can be recognized early and transfer can be initiated before mom and baby are in danger. Some emergencies require immediate transfer to the hospital while some can be monitored and discussed before a plan is made. Some emergencies must be managed right away and the midwife carries training and equipment to manage these at home.
Do you take insurance?
Getting in network coverage for a home birth has proven to be a challenge. I continue to try to find ways to make midwifery care affordable for all. This includes payment plans, and discounts to the global fee. I continue to look into insurance coverage and other ways to help my clients afford the birth they dream of.
