Hospitals NEVER listen to concerns or serious problems with me. I need help advocating for myself and understanding everything in a way that isn’t going off of a doctor’s lunch plans. A large example is my experience with severe birth trauma. My first daughter was an emergency C-section due to a car accident I was in. My 2nd daughter was meconium in utero and the doctor didn’t take my clotting disorder seriously to the point I nearly died. I was also put on a spinal block that took 45 minutes to work and it wore off completely before they even started the procedure but failed to document the horrific outcome. My 3rd daughter was planned as a VBAC and I was promised I’d get it, but the doctor claimed that being at 4cm for 1 hour “isn’t considered progressing” despite me still actively progressing and no distress or complications of any kind but she told me that I either get the C-section she pushed or she’d get my children taken from me if I didn’t comply. The spinal block didn’t work whatsoever and I was screaming in unimaginable pain but was told to “get over it” and to “stop being dramatic”. I assumed they gave me something to knock me out but they told me later on that they didn’t. I had remained unconscious for several hours because my body shut down from unnatural pain to that degree. I wasn’t even able to hear my daughter’s first cries. These concerns were brought to her attention prior and I told her she needed to put me under general anesthesia to do the operation but she blatantly refused. I later learned she went against EVERYTHING in my birth plan including my backup in case of a C-section because she “needed more experience”. Now I’ve gone through this pregnancy with extreme complications and have told them repeatedly about needing to be put under with general anesthesia but they aren’t working with me at all. I’m terrified of going through this again and no one seems to listen. They go off the notes of people who lied so they didn’t lose their jobs and it could VERY easily kill me this time due to my medical issues happening currently. I’m more terrified of them not listening and acting appropriately to the situation than I am at the thought of allowing myself to push during contractions and risk my uterus rupturing just to avoid that surgery going wrong AGAIN. I’m planning to give birth at Sister’s Charity Hospital in Buffalo. I need someone who’s covered by my insurance. I can give my birth plan when I match with someone. PLEASE HELP!!!!!!! |

Megan is looking for Birth Doula, Lactation Consultant, Midwife
|
Location: Naples, FL 34109, USA
Due date or baby's birthday: May 02, 2026
Looking for information regarding a Doula or Midwife for early May delivery at NCH hospital in Naples, FL. Ideally we would be able to use HSA funds but that is negotiable. We don't have a full scale birth plan but right now we'd prefer unmedicated and unassisted (no forceps/vacuum) but obviously will do what's best and safest for baby. |

I just want an unmedicated and natural birth. I would love to do it in a hospital but the doctors I’ve heard about, don’t encourage natural birth. I’d love a birthing center but I don’t know of any. |

Dariel is looking for Birth Doula, Midwife
|
Location: Garrison, MD, USA
Due date or baby's birthday: June 12, 2026
We are looking for a midwife and/or doula who is experienced in supporting natural, holistic, and intuitive birthing experiences, specifically home water births. This is our first birth, and we want to feel supported, informed, and respected throughout the entire process. We value a provider who honors the body’s natural ability to give birth while also remaining attentive, knowledgeable, and grounded. Our intention is to have a natural home water birth, with a focus on low intervention and supporting physiological labor. We are interested in using movement, breathwork, positioning, and other non-medical comfort measures to guide the process. We are open to medical support if needed, but we want someone who prioritizes informed consent and helps us feel empowered and involved in all decisions. We have been receiving prenatal care from an OB-GYN up to this point while we search for the right midwife or doula, and we are looking to transition our care to someone who aligns more closely with our holistic approach. We are especially looking for someone who is calm, intuitive, and respectful of our preferences, and who can help create a peaceful, grounded environment during labor. Guidance with labor positioning, pain management, and emotional reassurance is very important to us. We would also appreciate support for my partner so they can confidently assist me throughout labor. Our goal is to create a birth experience that feels safe, supported, and aligned with our values, while still being adaptable if circumstances change. We are open to discussing budget and services based on the level of support provided. |

Marie jessy is looking for Postpartum Doula, Birth Doula, Midwife
|
Location: Fort Pierce, FL 34952, USA
Due date or baby's birthday: July 26, 2026
The hospital choice isn’t finalized but HCA psl is a contender. I don’t know what my budget is realistically because I’m not sure how pricing works for this service. I would prefer a doula and midwife with 10+years. If the also speak French or creole that’s a plus for me. I’m 28 having my first child and need help getting the home fully ready and a spokesperson at the birth. Post-partum help will be needed but sadly i can only based when i need service based on how the pricing looks. I would like to know hourly rate and go from there budget wise |
