Hello! I'm a mother of two wonderful teens, 17 and 13. I'm in my final year of persuing my bachelors in nursing. I have experience as a birth doula before I began school and loved doing that work. I'm not currently in a position to be on call in the same way as I prefer to be for those clients so I'm transitioning into postpartum and night nurse care. I am certified in BLS for healthcare providers, fully vaccinated, and I have a level 1 Arizona fingerprint clearance card. I'm highly knowledgeable in infant and child care from my experience with babies and children from a young age, work as a doula, and having two children of my own. I have experience with multiples on various occasions. Additionally, my training in the healthcare field gives me the knowledge to skillfully care for and protect your greatest treasure.

With three years of pediatric nursing experience, I have always had a special love for taking care of little ones. My true passion lies in supporting new moms and babies, which is why I fell in love with postpartum doula care after the birth of my son. Having been supported by both labor and postpartum doulas during my birth and recovery, I can honestly say my experience would have been vastly different without their care. I believe birth and postpartum are natural and beautiful events in which every woman should feel empowered and protected. I’m here to make you feel empowered, supported, and heard through your journey of birth and postpartum. This is my mission due to my birth and postpartum experiences. I had a traumatic first birth that ended in an emergency c-section. Postpartum Recovery was even more difficult without the support I truly needed. When I was ready to try for a second baby, I miscarried. It took a lot out of me, to get the answers I needed to explain why I miscarried and to find a provider who was going to be safe for me. I knew I wanted a doula and the right birth team that would support me through a VBAC. My team heard me and created space for me to achieve a dream birth!

Meet Arizona licensed midwife Giuliana Pica, the passionate force behind Empowered Goddess Birth. She launched this inspiring venture in 2020, initially as a doula and childbirth education business, all while dreaming of evolving it into a vibrant home birth midwifery practice. In February 2021, Giuliana dove headfirst into her midwifery apprenticeship at a local birth center. There, she immersed herself in the art of midwifery, attending both birth center and home births, while learning from an accomplished array of preceptors—including licensed midwives, certified nurse midwives, and a community-based obstetrician. Fast forward to 2024, Giuliana proudly completed her training and passed both her national certification exam, and state licensing test, officially transforming Empowered Goddess Birth into her dream home birth midwifery practice. Giuliana maintains both CPR and NRP certifications, has attended a breech training workshop hosted by Breech Without Borders, completed a shoulder dystocia training course through Spinning Babies, and has attended 3 midwifery skills workshops hosted by the Midwifery Wisdom Collective. She is passionate about and committed to expanding her knowledge base. In the spring of 2024 she also welcomed earthside her first child, Odin. His home waterbirth was a deeply spiritual and soul nourishing experience. Since then, she’s been savoring every magical moment of motherhood alongside her partner Nicholas, as they embark on this beautiful adventure together. Hi my name is Sydney i have been a Birth Doula for about 5 years, I decided to become a Doula after going to Kenya Africa for a month (I’ve been to Kenya 4 times ) my first trip and seeing so many pregnant people not get the support they needed during delivery, so after my month there i came back and got certified and after i got certified i went back like a year later for 10 months to volunteer at a government hospital and a birth center.
