What's the Cost of Hiring a Night Nanny in Grand Rapids, MI?

The cost of a night nanny in Grand Rapids, MI can vary depending on the specific services provided, the experience of the nanny, and the number of children being cared for. On average, the cost can range from $15 to $30 per hour. Some night nannies may also offer overnight rates, which can range from $120 to $300 per night. It is best to contact individual night nanny services in Grand Rapids for specific pricing information.

The cost of a night nanny in Grand Rapids, MI can be influenced by several factors:

  • Experience and Qualifications

Nannies with extensive experience, certifications (e.g., newborn care specialist), or specific training often charge higher rates.

  • Number of Babies

Caring for twins or multiples typically costs more than caring for a single baby due to the increased workload.

  • Hours and Duration

Rates may vary depending on the number of hours per night, the total number of nights required, and whether the arrangement is short-term or long-term.

  • Duties and Responsibilities

Additional responsibilities, such as bottle preparation, light housekeeping, or sleep training, can increase the cost.

  • Time of Year

Demand during peak times, like the holiday season, may drive prices higher.

  • Agency Fees

Hiring through an agency often includes placement fees or additional charges for their services, adding to the overall cost.

  • Overnight Rates vs. Hourly Rates

Some nannies charge a flat overnight rate, while others charge hourly, which can influence costs depending on the length of the shift.

When considering hiring a night nanny in Grand Rapids, MI, it's advisable to research and interview several night nannies to find one who aligns with your preferences, needs, and budget. During consultations, you can discuss their specific services and pricing structure to ensure you have a clear understanding of what is included and the associated costs. This process will help you find a night nanny who meets your needs and fits within your budget.

I'm a career nanny and Newborn Care Specialist with a Master's in Childhood Studies. I'm also currently working towards certification as a post-natal mental health specialist. My approach to working with both parents and children is a calm environment, lots of empathy, and a focus on parental well-being and children's rights. I've primarily worked with children ages newborn to 5 years old, with focused interest in sleep, development, language acquisition, and children's rights- particularly how caregivers can apply the UNCRC to the every day care of children. I've been blessed with some amazing, lovely nanny families throughout my career, and I've had the good fortune to work with both celebrity clients and members of a royal family. I'm very easy-going, I tend to get along with everyone, and I value kindess, tolerance, and communication.

Melissa came to work for us as a maternity nurse for the first few weeks after our daughter arrived, and we loved her so much she came back again a few months later! I was initially unsure of whether I wanted to hire a maternity nurse as I worried about it feeling quite intrusive or feeling like the maternity nurse was 'taking over' the baby. My husband and I agreed there was no harm in interviewing applicants and then if we didn't find anyone suitable, we had our answer. After interviewing several applicants, we'd nearly given up on the idea when the agency suggested one more - Mel. Gosh, I'm so glad they did. In our first introduction over facetime I immediately felt a connection with Mel, so she came to work for us for the first few weeks after our daughter was born, to help us settle in to parenthood. She is kind, supportive, knowledgeable, and appears to have endless patience (for both parents and babies!). She taught us the safest ways to get our daughter to sleep, bath her, change her, how to introduce a bottle, helped with breastfeeding, as well as helping me to figure out which breast pump to buy, how to work it, and sat with me for encouragement at all times. She would remind me when I needed to take my next medication and helped with any household tasks that I couldn't do due to recovery. There wasn't a single area of our lives that she didn't help out with in those first few weeks. I highly recommend Mel to anyone who is considering a maternity nurse. The warm, maternal, supportive energy that she brought into our home at such a vulnerable time was invaluable. She will always have a special place in our family - I just wish she could move in here forever!

This passion will never die inside of me, so I am ready now and always to be there for those in need. You can do this! And I will lift you up while you do.

☆☆☆☆☆ - 5 stars I just want to start by saying that this woman is OUTSTANDING! Let that sink in real quick. When I first found out that I was pregnant, I was absolutely terrified in every aspect. I was on my way to being a first time mom, and I had no clue what I was doing or even about to have to do once I had my baby. Someone suggested that I look into hiring a doula to assist me. So I started looking around, and that's when someone had suggested Kennadi. My first initial meeting with Kennadi went better than I could have imagined. She is very personable, and I immediately felt comfortable around her. She is very compassionate, nurturing, outgoing, helpful, knowledgeable, has great sense of humor, she is committed, and just an all around wonderful person. Throughout my pregnancy, she never once made me feel like I was alone. She helped me to feel more confident in my new adventure, and my big belly at the time. Kennadi was always checking in on me, and making sure that my pregnancy was going as well as it could. Being pregnant was tough, and pretty nerve wracking to be honest. But I can honestly say that it would have been much worse without her. When it came time for baby, it by no means went as I had hoped. But that's how pregnancy goes, right? Giving birth went from being scary, to what felt like an outright nightmare in minutes. Yet Kennadi was so supportive me, and cheered me on through everything. Even after birth, she has been so good to my new family and I. Having the extra support, made a world of difference, and having her specifically, by my side, I couldn't have asked for a better support system, truly. So with all that being said, if you are looking to make your birth experience as positive as possible, Kennadi is definitely the woman to have in your corner no doubt! 10/10 would highly recommend her and her services to anyone.

Choosing a doula is about finding someone you feel safe with, supported by, and truly listened to. I believe every family deserves to feel respected, informed, and cared for during pregnancy, birth, and the postpartum period. My goal is to create a calm, steady presence so parents can focus on welcoming their baby with confidence. I am a certified Postpartum Doula, a DONA trained Birth Doula, a Lactation Specialist, and VBAC certified. I also have training in techniques such as Spinning Babies, the Miles Circuit, and a variety of labor positions and comfort measures that can help support progress and reduce discomfort during labor. My role during birth is to help create a calm environment, offer practical comfort techniques, and support both the birthing person and their partner so they feel informed and empowered throughout the experience. After birth, my focus shifts to helping families rest, recover, and adjust to life with their new baby. Postpartum support can include newborn care guidance, feeding support, emotional encouragement, and helping parents find their rhythm during those early weeks. Every family is different, and I meet people where they are and support them in the ways that feel most helpful to them. I proudly accept Medicaid as well as private pay so that more families can access doula support during pregnancy, birth, and postpartum. Supporting families during this time is truly meaningful work to me, and I feel honored to be invited into such an important moment in people’s lives. When I am not working with families, I enjoy spending time with my family and friends, traveling, and visiting the beach where I love collecting rocks along the shore.

Hello! My name is Arianna, but most people call me Ana (ah-nuh). I'm a birth and postpartum doula serving families in central Michigan (based in the Big Rapids/Paris area). My journey into birth work began 12 years ago when I attended my first birth, and it's been a deep passion ever since. I completed my birth & postpartum doula training in 2017 and have loved supporting families through labor, birth, and the early postpartum days. It's truly an honor to be invited into such a sacred space, providing the steady support every mom deserves during one of life's biggest moments. I know birth and postpartum can be tough, but you are too. I'm here to offer physical comfort measures, emotional encouragement, and evidence-based information to help you make informed decisions that align with your unique needs and preferences. My husband Devan and I have been married for 9 years (celebrating 10 this June!), and we're parents to 4 wonderful kids. In my free time, I enjoy crocheting, listening to audiobooks, thrifting for treasures, baking, and spending quality time with my family. I'd love to chat about how I can support you—feel free to reach out anytime! Warmly, Ana

She is amazing! Had her there during my first vbac. She was calm, stayed by my side the whole time. Contractions kept stalling and she helped me get them going again by lots of walking and squatting. She is very knowledgeable and knew the right spots to push to ease the pain. She kept my nerves calm and stay focused on my goal of having a healthy, successful vbac. She stayed all the way till baby, husband and I were all settled in and ready to just rest. I highly recommend her!

As your doula it’s my goal to make sure you have the skills, education and support to make informed decisions on how to birth YOUR way. Certified as a DONA birth/postpartum doula, placenta encapsulation specialist, as well as a certified advanced trained doula & educator in VBaC births, my role is to educate, support and empower every individual and their support partner through their pregnancy, labor and postpartum. I incorporate SpinningBabies methods into my work and provide encouraging, judgment-free and continuous birth support that is unique to each client’s hopes and wants towards a healthy & satisfying birth experience. Some of my professional highlights including being voted a Top Provider in GRKids Best Of GR and serving as director for The Maternal Wellness Program. On the personal side, I am a mom to three amazing children – Malone, Beau & Jocelyn (twins!), and wife to a sweet “Kentucky Boy”. My introduction to motherhood was challenging. I struggled with infertility, postpartum depression/anxiety and a difficult first birth. All these moments in my life set me on my path and passion for birth & postpartum support, and maternal mental health.

We just loved Carrie! She was so knowledgeable, kind, calm and intuitive to our needs, and definitely helped me with some fears I had about trying for a VBAC (I did it!!!). Nobody would regret having her in the birth room with them and I can't imagine not having her with us again if we have more children.
