I plan to give birth a the hospital. I am covered by Tricare Prime TriWest for a doula. I have no interest in paying out-of-pocket. Please only respond if you are accepting Tricare prime. I want to discuss a birthing plan because I am new to all of this.

I am a first time mother looking for support on what to expect before/during/after delivery. I plan to deliver at Methodist Mansfield Medical Center, where I actually work as a nurse. This is also my boyfriend’s first child and I want him to feel supported and know how to support me too. Ideally, we would want vaginal delivery but I am diabetic and know that babies may be larger, so I am not entirely against a c-section if that is the safest option. I do plan on having an epidural regardless but would like to incorporate other pain relief methods. I would like to create a calm environment in the delivery room. I also plan to breast feed post-birth.

I am unsure of what I need. I am still trying to figure this out. I'll revisit the budget and stuff soon.

I'm looking to have my second child here at home on the farm, want a natural non invasive birth with support from someone who's seen a thing or 2. My Budget is no higher than $5000 as I just need someone there for the birth. I'm not one to say that you need 20 years experience but preferably someone who's been doing this for more than 5. I want delayed cord clamping for as long as medically safe, and it is very important to me that my husband is able to cut the cord. I prefer minimal interventions unless medically necessary, and I want a provider who respects my voice, explains everything clearly, and supports informed decision-making. I am open to pain management options but want to feel in control of my experience. For provider requirements, I am looking for someone who is certified (doula certification required if applicable), experienced (preferably several years working with births), and comfortable working in a hospital setting. Experience with military families or TRICARE patients is a huge plus. Strong communication, a calming presence, and the ability to advocate for me during labor are very important. If a second language is spoken, that is a bonus but not required. The care recipient is myself. I am currently in my first trimester. This is not my first pregnancy, so I am familiar with the process, but I want a more supported and intentional experience this time. No special medical needs at this time, but I do want guidance throughout pregnancy, labor, and postpartum recovery. Additional duties I would like support with include emotional support during pregnancy, labor coaching, assistance with comfort measures, and postpartum check-ins. Light guidance with newborn care is appreciated, but I am not looking for full-time newborn care, sleep training, or housekeeping services. Overall, I am looking for someone who feels like a true support system, not just a service. I want to feel heard, respected, and cared for throughout this entire journey.

I have a prenatal birth coach. I’ve taken courses on hypnobirthing. I’ve had two appts with an OB for an early sonogram at 10 weeks and to hear the heart beat at 28 weeks. I am not interested in any additional OB appts. I intend to have an unassisted physiological freebirth. I’m considering just having my husband present, but consulting with any available doulas or midwives to possible hire someone else to be present for the birth and for postpartum care.
