I plan to give birth at a hospital with my partner/ baby’s father. I am a first time mom and interested in having the support of a doula during birth and postpartum care as well.

I am terrified. Baby actual due date is May 15 but doctor does not want me going full 40 weeks due to being high risk. I am 37 years old and had severe preeclampsia with my last pregnancy. We had not much help at all from family since both my husband’s mother and my mother have passed. My aunt was able to help for a week but she lives in Cabo and wasn’t here at night. Husband won’t be able to take work off this time. So I’m expected to do this solo and it’s overwhelming. He’s more anxious than me! And my only support during birth. So I’m looking for someone that can help me through the C-section and after through that 4th trimester. I’m blessed to have insurance. I had no idea insurance could help with this last time or we would have done it! Im excited to think that I could actually get some help and it’s giving me hope. Thank you.

I envision my birth taking place outside of a hospital bed. I am curious to know options for a water birth delivery. I strongly do not want to be confined to a bed. I am not against being at a hospital, if necessary. I just want to be free to move. Right now, I am financially limited to what Arizona AHCCCS will cover; however, I am taking on a new job in March which will allow me to earn higher income and find better insurance coverage. My birth plan right now is something I'm yet determining. I am seeking a doula for emotional support and guidance throughout my pregnancy as I do not have a support system in place. Hi there, I'm just trying to find an in-person doula in my covered insurance network with AZ BCBS PPO. I'm having a water birth in-center at the Tempe Birth Center in Tempe, Arizona 85281. This is my first pregnancy and I don't have any local family or any family able to support during the birth (permanently disabled/wheelchaired mother) so hoping to get any kind of guidance or support that I can find with a doula!

1. I am not 100% set on a hospital yet, I am going on prenatal tours at a couple hospitals this upcoming weekend. 2. Under $1,400. 3. Pre-labor I’d like the birthing process to start naturally, with water breaking on its own. Prefer no induction if baby is good and not medically necessary. During labor I would like to stay away from medications, no epidural, and try pain management such as bath/shower, massage, counter pressure during contractions, tens, breathing techniques. If medically necessary I am open to an epidural if I need an induction. During birth, I would like to feel the urge to push and listen to my body without feeling pressured by doctors or nurses in to pushing if i’m “taking too long.” I would love warm compress on my perineum during pushing to help reduce my chances of tearing. I want to avoid episiotomy, forceps, and vacuum. IF a C section is medically necessary, I’d like a moment with someone from my support team to process prior to surgery, my significant other with me during the procedure, skin-to-skin as soon as possible, and for my significant other to remain with the baby at all times to consent to vaccines and medications the baby might need. After birth I would like delayed cord clamping, skin-to-skin as soon as possible for “golden hour”, I’d prefer to feel the urge to push the placenta out naturally without any force from the doctor and I would like to see my placenta before discarding, I’d prefer all treatments with baby to be in the room with me or have my significant other or doula to have eyes on the baby, prefer to breastfeed instead of formula, not quite sure how long to wait for the first sponge bath. I’d love to hear advice from my doula in my birth plan, I would love to learn advantages and disadvantages of what I have in mind so far, I am open to feedback! For postpartum, I’d prefer limited visitors, ice packs, heavy duty pads and dermaplast numbing spray or whatever the hospital has that will help ease the pain down there, Id prefer to leave the hospital after 24hrs if it is not medically necessary for baby or myself to stay longer.

This is my second pregnancy and I’m having twins. My first labor was very long and I was rejected from the hospital 5 separate times. I really felt like I didn’t have any health care people advocating for me and because I’d never given birth and was in a boat load of pain I didn’t know how to advocate for myself. I thought going into my second pregnancy I would know more of what was going happen since I’d done it before but since finding out I’m having twins a few months ago I feel like I’m back to being in the dark since it’s so different with twins. I’m not sure what my budget is yet since I’ve never had a doula so I don’t know what it usually costs. I’ll be delivering at banner desert hospital. I would really like to have a vaginal birth if at all possible and I feel like having someone that is familiar with the process would help me achieve that.
