This is our first baby, with the exception of a previous miscarriage. I don’t know exactly what my birth plan is or what should go into a birth plan. I just know I want it to be slow and calm as much as possible. I’m looking for someone who will take the time to help educate me more about pregnancy and birth and help find confidence in the process. I’d like someone who can act as more of a mother figure guiding me. I want to focus on health and nutrition throughout my pregnancy. I need someone who will let my husband be 100% involved and is more about enabling us with knowledge and confidence to make our own decisions. So, someone who is calm and has a lot of patience.

Plan to give birth at American Fork hospital. I'm 33 and this is my first pregnancy. My spine is fused from T4-L3, so I have concerns about an epidural, otherwise I would opt for that immediately. Neither my husband nor I really know what we're doing and I would like someone with experience helping guide me through the process and giving me pain relief techniques the whole time, instead of in and out like nurses. The hospital has bath tubs available, so I think I'll probably use that to labor, but we can't use them to deliver. I'm not opposed to having a medicated delivery, I'm just scared it won't work because of my hardware, so I would like backup plans. I have no idea what to expect for a budget.

I’m looking for a Doula to support me in my first unmedicated birth at Alta view hospital. I received your contact information from Sarah Jane who did my wedding photos haha. I will just have my husband and a doula in the hospital room. I’m doing their simply birthing program so it has a bath and more home like environment. I’d love to meet to see if we are a good fit!!

Plan to give birth at Alta view hospital with minimal interventions and monitoring as needed. Tub laboring and nitrous oxide for pain management. Its my 2nd baby. I had a 2nd degree episiotomy done with my 1st and want to prevent tearing or a second episiotomy. I did fully unmedicated with my first but wished I had access to nitrous oxide to help relax a little from contractions but I did not and do not want an epidural. Looking for a midwife , or doula to assist in the home birth of my third child. Ive had successful homebirth for my first , and second child ,almost a home birth, but the midwife felt it was taking too long and rushed me to the hospital , where I barely made in time for my daughter to not be born in the car . The experience was traumatic because my support lacked confidence, and expertise to endure at the very end which made me very fearful something was wrong which instensified the pain . I didn’t feel like I needed to go to the hospital , baby showed no signs of distress . Everything ended up being normal and healthy. I had to sign a waiver and meet with CPS to leave the hospital after not wanting to stay there for the standard number of days . Also having to constantly say no to all the newborn interventions like hearing tests and immunizations was distressing . I have Medicaid and found a great midwife , but unfortunately cannot afford the $2,500, copay that Medicaid will not cover . If I’m on Medicaid to begin with my financial resources are already very limited . Now I feel my only option, is a free birth. I want an unmedicated , no intervention birth . I feel my option to be somewhat of a free birth . I’m not against the medical system , it has its place and purpose , but not for routine childbirth. I have a birth pool and stool which have helped in the past , and am reading the “ the birthing handbook” to improve my awareness . I will be doing somewhat routine prenatal screenings , and a postnatal checkup through the medical system , to ensure the health of my baby, and I .
