About me

Hello / Xin chào! 👋 My name is Hoàng and I’m a full spectrum doula. I provide prenatal, birth, postpartum and reproductive care for all birthing people and their families in the DC, Maryland and Virginia area. I completed my training with Doula Trainings International in February 2026 and I’m currently working towards my certification. In the summer of 2025, I became a mom and was privileged to be able to give birth to my son in the comfort of our home. The powerful experience of laboring in the arms of my partner and my mother, surrounded by an incredible team of midwives left a strong imprint on me. I decided to step into the birth care space because I want all birthing people to have the same level of support my people have done for me, who have kept me held throughout labor and nursed me back through postpartum. I am deeply aware of the inequity and challenges facing many birthing people in the US, especially to our black, brown, indigenous and immigrant families. I also realize that the solution does not lie in asking birthing people and their families to “get more educated” and “find more support”. What we need a system-wide policy change that address core issues: guaranteed paid family leave, affordable childcare, and affordable medical care. This work is inherently political, because too many birthing people have been paying the price with their own bodies and babies. Birth work is my prayer that we all receive the love, care and support we deserve, no matter who we are or where we come from.
