I’m a first time mom so I’m not too sure what I need specifically but I do plan on giving birth in a hospital and I would just like more support during labor than just my doctors because I know they tend to rush through the birth process

My previous labor and delivery was a horrible experience with a doctor who quite honestly treated me like a body and not a person. She made decisions such as episiotomy with no question and not even any warning. She wouldn’t allow my nurse to even spray some lidocaine during stitches after a failed epidural and made comments to me that I needed to hurry up while pushing and was wasting her time. While I will be with a new doctor this time it is not a guarantee I will have my exact doctor and I am doing everything I can to prevent and experience like the first.
