Donna Moragne-Hanson

4 years of experience

Hello Everyone! My name is Donna Moragne-Hanson and I am a licensed midwife in Los Angeles, CA. I provide well-woman, pre-conception, prenatal and postpartum care from the privacy of my in-home birthing studio where you & your family will be provided with everything you need for a safe, comfortable and peaceful birth. You will also receive 24 Golden Hours of prenatal & newborn and receive 3 homemade meals created to restore, center and balance your body before journeying home with your new babe. In addition I offer childbirth education classes as well as many Ala-carte services. For me, establishing trust with my client is the most important and fundamental and important. My practice is built on nurturing trust and learning to let go of the things we allow to interfere with trust. I want to encourage trusting in yourself; trusting in your body (and the natural process of giving birth); trusting in your baby (and their own divinely written birth story); trusting in humanity (and the world your baby is born into) and trusting in our partnership; as client and midwife. I believe, when a woman is heard, she is seen; when she is seen, she has a voice; and as her midwife I am compelled to encourage her to honor that voice; her voice. In this way I believe I am blessed with an opportunity to fulfill my role as supporter, facilitator, educator and client advocate; the ultimate calling of a midwife. For me, describing the process of birth is like trying to describe a miracle; and walking with a woman as she becomes a mother is even more profound…I am beyond words. Donna, LM, CPM

Donna gave me the confidence and calm I needed for my first birth. She was there every step of the way to answer all my questions, no matter how silly! My doctor was very impressed with how prepared and informed I was. I would love to work with Donna again.

Hi there, I'm Andrea! As a Doula, Yoga Instructor, and Wellness Coach, I approach my work with a holistic mindset. I want to be there for the birthing parent every step of the way on their journey to improved well-being. My goal is to guide the birthing parent toward a lifestyle that's not only healthier but tailored to their individual needs, especially during their prenatal care, labor + delivery, and postpartum care. I'm all about breaking down barriers and ensuring that every parent, regardless of background or circumstances, has the support they deserve. In my role as a Doula, I'm there to provide emotional, physical, and informational support during the incredible journey of pregnancy and childbirth. Whether I'm leading a yoga class or coaching on wellness, I want to make a real impact. I offer expertise in areas like nutrition, physical fitness, and mental well-being. From preconception through pregnancy to postpartum care, I'm here for you in every stage of parenthood. My background is in public health and currently certified under Happy Mama Healthy Baby Alliance as a Birth Doula. I got my certification in May 2023 and have been part of their board since July 2023. I am also a certified 200 hr Yoga Instructor and 85 hr Prenatal and Postnatal Yoga Instructor. I got my certifications in 2021 and 2022. I have experience in Ayurveda, when it comes to nutrition and lifestyle, which I incorporate in my teachings in prenatal and postpartum care. Join me on this journey, and let's empower mothers to embrace a holistic and healthier lifestyle. Together, we can make a difference, one birth and one wellness session at a time.

I have always been fascinated and humbled by the birthing process since working at a Maternity Hospital in Nepal many years ago, when I was a medical student in the UK. It revealed to me how essential compassionate support is during this rite of passage. My passion for women's health and childbirth has never waned, and I come with a deep knowledge of the process from working as a family doctor in the UK, then birthing and bringing up my own three children here in the US. I am privileged to work as a birth doula, an advocate in this space, supporting with empathy and calm, helping women to trust their bodies and to achieve a positive birth experience. I help women to know their own body and its amazing capabilities, to trust it, and, in doing so, to own their birth.

We cannot recommend Harriet highly enough as a doula. From the very beginning, she went above and beyond — visiting our home multiple times before my due date to teach us contraction techniques and make sure we felt prepared.  When early labor began, Harriet was an incredible calming presence over the phone, talking me through my initial contractions and wisely advising us to stay home much longer than we would have on our own. At the hospital, Harriet created a soothing environment (complete with candles!), kept me focused and breathing through contractions before my epidural, and made sure my husband felt involved and useful every step of the way. When I hit a wall during pushing, Harriet kept me grounded and calm — I honestly don't know how I would have gotten through that stretch without her. Harriet visited us at home afterward to debrief the birth, process the experience together, and answer all the questions that come flooding in once you're home with a newborn. Harriet is knowledgeable, warm, intuitive, and dedicated to her clients. We are so grateful she was part of welcoming our baby into the world.

If you value both evidence and intuition, I might be the doula for you. I love helping clients combine research and their own instincts to make decisions that are right for them. Furthermore, I might be the doula for you if you want support without an agenda. I don’t believe there’s an ideal way to approach birth or postpartum adjustment. I’m here to understand and support whatever path you want to take.

I had the privilege of having Glo as my birth and postpartum doula, and I truly cannot recommend her enough. As someone who had always been terrified of giving birth, I can honestly say that my birth experience was not only positive, but actually enjoyable—and that was 100% because of Glo. During our prenatal session, she took the time to educate both my husband and me on all things birth. We left feeling informed, confident, and empowered to advocate for ourselves and make decisions that felt right for our family. Glo was an incredible support throughout the process. She always made sure we understood our options and the evidence behind them, but never pushed us in any particular direction. Instead, she fully supported every decision we made, which made us feel respected, calm, and in control during such an important moment. Her postpartum support was just as amazing. She provided immense emotional support during those early weeks, along with practical help with our baby, thoughtful guidance, and even assistance with meal prep and grocery shopping. Having her there made such a difference during a time that can feel overwhelming. Glo truly helped shape our transition into parenthood into such a smooth, supported, and genuinely lovely experience. We are beyond grateful for her and feel so lucky to have had her by our side during this journey.
