Frequently asked questions

What does a postpartum doula do?

I provide practical, emotional, and non-judgmental support during the postpartum period. Every family is different, so each visit is tailored to your needs. Support may include newborn care, giving you time to rest, light household tasks, bottle preparation, organizing baby items, and offering a calm, reassuring presence.

What kinds of household tasks do you help with?

I can help with light household tasks that make daily life feel more manageable, such as washing dishes, folding laundry, tidying common areas, preparing bottles, and organizing baby supplies. My goal is to help lighten your mental load so you can focus on recovery and your baby.

Will you take care of my baby while I nap or shower?

Absolutely! Many parents use our time together to catch up on rest, enjoy a shower, or simply have a quiet moment knowing their baby is in caring hands.

When should I book postpartum support?

Many families book during pregnancy to ensure availability, but I also welcome last-minute inquiries whenever my schedule allows. Support can begin as soon as you return home or anytime during the postpartum period.

How long is a typical visit?

Visits are a minimum of four hours, giving us enough time to settle into a rhythm and provide meaningful support without feeling rushed.

Do you support first-time parents?

Yes! Whether you're welcoming your first baby or adding another little one to your family, I'm here to support you without judgment and meet you where you are.

What areas do you serve?

I provide postpartum support throughout Toronto. If you're unsure whether you're within my service area, feel free to reach out!

Do you work overnight?

At this time, I offer daytime postpartum support. If your family has specific scheduling needs, feel free to reach out and we'll see what might be possible.

Do you offer feeding support?

I can provide encouragement and practical support around infant feeding, such as helping you get comfortable, preparing bottles, and creating a calm environment. If specialized feeding support is needed, I'm happy to help you connect with an appropriate professional.

What if I'm not sure what I need?

That's completely okay! Every family's needs are different. We can chat before your first visit to discuss what's feeling most helpful, and each visit can be adjusted as your needs change.

Do I need to have everything figured out before you arrive?

Not at all. Some days you may know exactly what would help, and other days you might just need someone to say, "I've got the baby, go take a nap." We'll figure it out together. My goal is to support your family in whatever way feels most helpful that day.

What makes your support different?

I believe every family deserves support without pressure or judgment. My approach is calm, practical, and flexible. Whether you need a listening ear, an extra set of hands, or simply someone to help make the day feel a little easier, I'm here to support your family in a way that feels right for you.
