Estimated Budget: To be determined based on the doula’s experience, services included, prenatal support, labor support, and postpartum availability. Describe your birth plan: I am planning a midwife-led hospital birth with an OB available if medically necessary. My goal is to have an unmedicated, low-intervention vaginal birth and use the Alternative Birthing Center at Rhode Island Hospital if I remain eligible. I would like freedom of movement during labor and want to use different positions, breathing techniques, massage, counter-pressure, hydrotherapy/water labor, and other non-medication comfort measures. I want a calm, supportive environment where my preferences are respected while still having immediate access to medical care if complications arise. I am looking for a doula who will provide continuous emotional and physical support throughout labor, help me advocate for my birth preferences, explain options when appropriate, and work collaboratively and respectfully with my midwife, nurses, and medical team. I also want my partner to be actively involved and would like the doula to help guide and support my partner during labor rather than replace their role. I am primarily seeking prenatal and labor/birth doula support rather than newborn childcare. We are a couple in a difficult situation. [name hidden] ([personal details hidden] and 19 weeks along) lives in Middletown CT and has one more year before finishing her Bachelor's degree at Wesleyan University. She is working on this final year while being pregnant. She will be giving birth during her last semester, and probably right around the time of her thesis project. Dan ([personal details hidden]) has just accepted a two year contract [personal details hidden] in Myanmar, and has been there to working this position since late July. Because of this, he is only able to provide financial assistance and emotional support from afar until December, when he will return to assist with the birth. [name hidden] and Dan's relationship is strong and stable, and assuming the plan moves forward as described, their financial base will also be reasonable. We would likely have a support budget of up to 1,000 per month. This is our first pregnancy, and we're excited to welcome our baby to the world, but we hope to find the support of an experienced birth doula who can help us through the journey. We are enrolled to give birth at Connecticut Childbirth and Women's Center in Danbury. Although [name hidden] has just begun her new semester at Wesleyan, she is having a pretty difficult time managing the physical changes and [personal details hidden]. I am looking for a doula to support me during my upcoming hospital birth at Milford Hospital. This will be my fourth baby, but my boyfriend’s first, so I’m hoping to find someone who can provide guidance and support for both of us throughout the experience. Ideally, I would love to have an unmedicated birth, but I’m also open to being flexible depending on how things progress. My biggest priorities are finding someone who can help me with pain management techniques, advocate for my preferences, and assist with communication between myself and the medical team, especially during moments when I may be too overwhelmed or in too much pain to effectively communicate.
