About Joselyn

I am a birth and postpartum doula, prenatal and children’s yoga teacher, and mother of two. Originally from Venezuela, I lived in France before moving to San Francisco 10 years ago, where motherhood transformed the direction of my life and work. Before becoming a full-time mom, I worked in research and studied at university in France. My passion for science, well-being, and lifelong learning continues to guide the way I support families today. My journey into birth work was deeply inspired by my own experiences with doulas. During my pregnancies and births, I felt the power of being supported, heard, and reassured during such an important transition. That support stayed with me and eventually led me to pursue doula training through DONA International. I completed a 36-hour DONA Birth Doula workshop that included 14 hours of Childbirth Education, 17 hours of DONA training, and 5 hours of Breastfeeding Education. I also completed Natural Resources (In San Francisco) Postpartum Doula Core Training.

What to expect

As a birth and postpartum doula in San Francisco, I provide emotional, physical, and informational support to families during pregnancy, labor, birth, and the postpartum period. I currently volunteer as a doula at San Francisco General Hospital, where I am gaining valuable hands-on experience supporting families during labor and birth. My goal is to help you feel supported, heard, and more confident as you prepare for birth and adjust to life with your new baby. I offer comfort measures during labor, guidance as you prepare for birth, and practical support after delivery as you recover and settle into your new routine. Every family has different needs, and I strive to provide compassionate, respectful care that meets you where you are.
