About me

I first felt called to serve mothers and babies when I began instructing perinatal yoga classes and birth preparation workshops, and then became a mother myself. I journeyed with birthing families and witnessed their transformation into parenthood. I felt the support and connection from other parents as I lived my own profound transformation. Later, I completed the DONA International Postpartum Doula training through the Simkin Center at Bastyr University, and then became a certified postpartum doula. My approach is to mother the mother so she can heal and regain her energy, and enjoy bonding with her baby. I offer traditional Asian postpartum care and cooking if my clients desire. My aim is to empower parents to trust their own instincts and parent the way they want.

Katherine is an amazing postpartum doula. She is very attentive and dedicated to making sure you rest and relax first and foremost. She helped me take seriously the strictness of staying in bed for the first month postpartum and making sure I wasn't doing too much. Every time she came I was sure to be provided with great food, a break from my beautiful baby and some rest and relaxation for my body whether it was in the form of belly binding, massage or a foot scrub. She was also very knowledgeable about pumping and bottle feeding which I needed since I hadn't done any of that for my first child. I am extremely grateful that I had her as my postpartum doula!

My husband and I had the immense privilege of having Katherine as our postpartum doula for our first 6 weeks as brand new parents. You can tell this isn't just a job for Katherine in the way she puts her entire heart into every day. We were so lucky to have her in our corner; She not only took care of our physical needs (watching the baby so we could sleep, nourishing meals, relaxing massages, belly wrapping, etc), but also watched out for our emotional/mental health needs. She also taught us many practical skills such as bathing our baby, clipping his nails and entertaining/enriching him during his wake windows. Most importantly though, she continuously empowered us, reminding us that we DO know what we're doing and that we're the best parents for our little one- something that was very easy to lose sight of while in the thick of it. My husband, our baby and I all cried on Katherine's last day- it really felt like we had a close family member caring for us, and we were sad to say goodbye to her. If you have the opportunity to work with Katherine, do not hesitate! She is truly a gem, and I'm so grateful that she helped us into this new era of our lives.

I wholeheartedly recommend Katherine Lee and her postpartum doula services. You simply won’t find this level of care anywhere else. I spent a long time trying to put into words the professionalism, warmth, and genuine nurturing that Katherine brought into our home. She is that village every family needs! The truth is, I could write an entire essay and still not capture it all—but I want to highlight just how essential she was for us during the postpartum period, in hopes it helps other families seeking support. Katherine has truly found her calling as a postpartum doula. She brings a deep well of experience, knowledge, and compassion, and she supported my healing journey—both physically and emotionally—every step of the way. As a first-time mom, those early weeks felt especially tender and vulnerable, and her presence made all the difference. Our baby is thriving, and I genuinely believe her care and commitment had a significant positive impact on his early development. The tummy time, nursery rhymes, massages and just all the loving, has turned our newborn into a confident, happy and smiley baby :) On top of everything, Katherine is an incredible cook. She prepared customized, nutrient-rich meals tailored to the first 30 days postpartum (the “Golden Month”) and continued to nourish us well beyond that. Looking back, I now fully realize how invaluable it was to have someone we could trust wholeheartedly—to care for me, our baby, and even dad. I’m endlessly grateful that I found her, she is truly worth her weight in gold.

A Lifesaver During Our First Weeks with Baby – Forever Grateful! We reached out to Katherine at the very last minute when we were really struggling to juggle the arrival of our baby and all other household responsibilities. To our surprise, she was able to accommodate us and showed up at our door ready to help. She not only took incredible care of our newborn, but she also made sure we were cared for too — cooking nourishing meals, helping us get rest, and guiding us through the basics of newborn care with so much patience and kindness. She helped us learn how to soothe, feed, and care for our baby in a way that felt empowering instead of overwhelming. We are endlessly thankful for her support. If you’re lucky enough to have Katherine available - don’t hesitate for a second. She’s truly amazing.

Katherine was our postpartum doula with our second baby. She is such an amazing postpartum doula and really strives to make you feel at ease during a tough postpartum period. She is so warm, loving, and caring and fit into our household seamlessly. Our 2.5 year old toddler warmed up to her quickly and would constantly ask about when she was coming back next. She was also great with our 2 cats and dog. Katherine can do it all! A few of the things we had her help with were newborn care, prepping us nourishing meals and snacks (her cooking is delicious!), wearing the baby as she helped with some household chores so I could take a shower or nap, massage, preparing sitz baths, and soothing the baby when she was fussy. When we were together, she also provided me some much needed talk therapy, just like chatting with a close friend. She is also incredibly proactive and was constantly finding things to do to make our lives easier after she finished up with the tasks we asked her to help with each day, which is perfect in a stressful time. She also went above and beyond when our dog got sick and my husband had to take him to the emergency vet. She offered to come by late at night when I was stressing out about having to deal with my toddler’s refusal to go to sleep while the baby was going through witching hour. She came by our place and told me to get some sleep and I was extremely grateful. Overall, we had such an amazing experience with Katherine! Our family loves Katherine so much and we hope to have a lasting friendship with her!

Katherine was our wonderful doula for eight weeks, and we highly recommend her! She is the sweetest, kindest person, who genuinely cares for your family’s well-being. She’s incredibly proactive and self-driven, and she will figure out what needs to be done without needing to be managed. We’ve been continually amazed by her ability to care for our newborn son (who needed to be worn in a carrier for every nap) while simultaneously cooking delicious meals for us (not to worry, she set him down before using the stove or dealing with raw meat!). We’ve also been so heart-warmed to watch Katherine play with our son -- from singing nursery rhymes to doing tummy time on our yoga ball, our son loved spending time with Katherine and was very at ease with her. Katherine also provided much needed emotional support to me, a first time mom who felt incredibly out of her element and out of her body in these first few weeks postpartum. It’s been a joy to have Katherine, and her help made our transition into parenthood much easier than it would have been. Thank you so much, Katherine, we miss you!

We worked with Katherine as our postpartum doula, and I truly can’t say enough good things about her. She came into our lives during a really challenging time — I was recovering from a difficult delivery and struggling with breastfeeding — and her support made an immediate and lasting impact on our family. Before finding Katherine, I had worked with three other doulas, and none of them were the right fit. Katherine was completely different — knowledgeable, nurturing, and proactive without being intrusive. She supported us both during the day and overnight when needed, and even rearranged her schedule to be there when my husband had to leave for a business trip during the early postpartum weeks. That kind of flexibility and dedication is rare. As a first-time mom and an Asian American, I appreciated how Katherine respected and embraced our family’s cultural values. She understood the importance of confinement traditions and prepared food that aligned with Eastern postpartum healing practices. At the same time, she brought a wealth of experience with newborn care and always made sure our preferences were honored — for instance, we followed safe sleep guidelines (baby on back), and she respected that fully, only suggesting brief supervised side-lying when our baby had reflux, and always with clear communication. She’s the kind of person who sees what needs to be done and does it — from feeding and soothing the baby to folding laundry, washing bottles, tidying up, and even offering back massages when I was sore from pumping. Every visit looked a little different depending on our needs that day, but she was always thoughtful, efficient, and incredibly reliable. More than anything, Katherine was a steady, calming presence. She didn’t just care for us — she guided us through the “firsts” of parenthood with compassion, warmth, and quiet confidence. She felt like a partner, a mentor, and a friend. My son adored her, and so did we. I recommend Katherine wholeheartedly to any new parent looking for someone who is both deeply competent and deeply caring. She truly went above and beyond.

Katherine is super knowledgeable and well connected in the community to ensure clients have a holistic pregnancy-to-postpartum experience, but most of all is friendly and kind. Highly recommend her!

At this point, Katherine has become part of my family. She took care of me and my firstborn in 2021. And she took care of me again in Feb 2025 when I had my daughter. I cannot recommend Katherine enough to any parent who is in need of some rest and healing. I am so grateful to have found such a wonderful doula. She took care of my daughter as her own and because of my confidence in her I was able to rest completely whenever she was in my home. She cooked, baked, did light house duties, took care of the baby and made sure that I was coping with motherhood. She sang to my daughter constantly and gave her massages! When I had issues with breastfeeding, she encouraged me and comforted me through my tears and struggles. When I had general questions she was able to provide advise and resources to help me navigate through them. Even after her time with my family was over, she checked in on us to make sure that I was coping well. She is extremely empathetic, kind patient and gracious. I highly recommend her. She is one of a kind :)

Postpartum is hard; Spending several days in the hospital welcoming our child into world and then be immediately thrusted into the chaotic world of new parenthood means that we were confused, scared, and exhausted. Luckily Katherine was there for us during this amazing and intense time with guidance on how to take care of our new baby while doing an absolutely expert job in also taking care of us. You can expect delicious food, a calming presence, and most importantly valuable sleep under Katherine's care. The golden month is a magical time as we watch our little miracle grow and thrive but it would have been very difficult had it not been for Katherine. If you are looking to be fully present and to enjoy your time with your new baby, definitely consider Katherine to guide you through the process. We are very glad that we did.
