About me

Hi, I'm Kirstie — a certified birth and postpartum doula and peer lactation counselor serving expecting and new families in the San Francisco Bay Area. I received my training through the Indie Birth Doula Academy and the H.E.R.B.A.L Academy and I bring that foundation into every client relationship with compassion, intention, and care. I believe that welcoming a new baby is one of life's most profound transitions — and no one should have to navigate it alone. Whether you're preparing for birth, settling into postpartum life, or finding your way through breastfeeding, I'm here to walk alongside you with steady, personalized support. I accept insurance through Kaiser Permanente NorCal, Health Net, and Alameda Health Alliance because your care shouldn't depend on your coverage. Flexible payment plans are also available for families without insurance coverage.

Peer Lactation Counseling Services
Breastfeeding is one of the most natural things in the world — and one of the most challenging. For many new mothers, the lactation journey is filled with tender moments alongside frustrating ones, and it often takes time, patience, and the right support to find your rhythm. Wherever you are in your journey, you don't have to figure it out alone. My peer lactation counseling services offer gentle, patient, and judgment-free guidance from someone who truly understands. I meet you where you are and walk alongside you as you and your baby learn together. Lactation support includes: 1. Breastfeeding positioning guidance — finding comfortable, effective positions that work for both you and your baby 2. Nutritional support — practical information to nourish your body and sustain your milk supply throughout your breastfeeding journey 3. Pumping support — hands-on guidance to help you pump efficiently and confidently, whether at home or on the go And because your journey doesn't stop at home, I also offer: - Return-to-work planning — we'll help you create a personalized, realistic plan to protect and continue your breastfeeding journey as you transition back to work - Workplace lactation resources — we provide resources and guidance to help mothers advocate for a safe, private, and legally compliant space for milk expression in the workplace, in accordance with California law. Your breastfeeding goals matter, and every step forward — no matter how small — is worth celebrating. We are here to cheer you on, troubleshoot with you, and make sure you have everything you need to succeed.

C-Section Birth Support
A cesarean birth is still your birth! You deserve to feel held, informed, and empowered every step of the way. Whether your c-section is planned or unexpected, having a doula by your side can make all the difference. I provide continuous, compassionate support before, during, and after your cesarean so that you never feel alone in the experience. Before your birth, we'll walk through exactly what to expect in the operating room, answer your questions, and create a birth preferences plan that honors your wishes — from skin-to-skin to who cuts the cord. During your birth, I will be there to offer calming reassurance, advocate for your preferences, and help your support person feel confident and present alongside you. After your birth, you'll receive initial bonding support with your baby, help you navigate the recovery room, and make sure you feel seen and celebrated — because bringing your baby earthside, however that happens, is a profound and beautiful thing. As the anesthesia and initial pain management begin to wear off, many mothers find themselves exhausted and physically limited at the very moment their newborn needs them most. Healing from major surgery while caring for a new baby is a lot to carry — and you shouldn't have to carry it alone. This is where c-section doula support truly shines. As part of this service, you'll receive: 1. Newborn care support — hands-on help so you can rest and recover 2. C-section recovery support — guidance and comfort as your body heals 3. Lactation support — compassionate assistance with feeding, whatever your goals 4. Meal train support — nourishing meals coordinated through your doula, friends, or family during your hospital stay 5. Three in-home postpartum visits — three hours each, bringing care and support right to your door as you settle into life at home You don't have to just get through your c-section. You can feel supported, informed, and deeply connected to your birth story.

My postpartum doula services begin with a personalized consultation to learn exactly what kind of support will mean the most to your family. Breastfeeding support — nurturing guidance to help you meet your feeding goals with confidence 2. Newborn care — hands-on support so you can rest, heal, and bond with your baby 3. Nutritional support — nourishing meal and snack preparation to fuel your recovery 4. Light housekeeping & laundry support — a tidy, calm home so you can focus on what matters most 5. Emotional & informational support — a compassionate, knowledgeable presence to guide and encourage you through every step of early parenthood You were never meant to do this alone. I am here to wrap your growing family in the care and community you deserve.

Kirstie was so amazing in guiding me through my birth. She taught me about having a birth plan and having it written it out so that doctors would follow my wishes. A birth plan was something I hadn’t even thought of but Kirstie was instrumental in helping me think ahead and giving me the best chance of having a safe birth for me and baby. She was also great in my postpartum. She checked in often and helped me breastfeeding. Teaching me massage that help milk production and foods I can eat also to help my milk supply. She thinks about all your needs before you even realize you need it. She’s a warm, calming presence to have at your most vulnerable time. There’s no other person I would recommend when looking for help in your birth and postpartum journey. Kirstie is simply the best!
