Hi, I'm Patricia Joseph of PMarie Birth Services. My husband and I moved to Lake Charles in 2020, and we absolutely love this community. As a BEST Certified Birth and Postpartum Doula, I not only bring training and preparation, but lived experience — as a mother, a grandmother, and a steady presence in the room when it matters most. I believe birth is more than a moment. It’s a beginning. And no one should walk it alone. I am a Certified Professional Midwife, licensed to practice in Louisiana and Texas. I offer comprehensive prenatal care, home birth attendance, and postpartum care for mother and baby.

Emily Coots is a south Louisiana native who values life, no matter what form. Emily found her calling of birth work through having children of her own. After a traumatic first birth, that she firmly believes could’ve been prevented with the proper knowledge, she began researching and educating herself to prepare for any future birth she may have. After achieving two natural births, she realized that medical autonomy is largely unheard of in the birthing world and knew that needed to change. She has made it her life mission to educate women on labor and birth to prevent the continuing pattern of unsupported and preventable trauma happening in such a vulnerable time in their lives. Emily is a mother of three, enjoys spending time with her family, loves animals, and hopes to bring peace to those she supports through birth and loss.

I am a certified and licensed professional midwife providing home birth services to families in Southwest Louisiana and the surrounding areas. Love In The Making Midwifery grew out of a love and passion for preserving labor and birth as the intimate and sacred experience that it was meant to be. I believe a safe and fulfilling birth experience starts long before the birth of the child. I provide preconception and prenatal nutrition, labor and birth prep and lactation support. Through each hour long prenatal I strive to ensure my clients leave my office healthier than when they arrived, filled with fresh knowledge and understanding of their bodies and the confidence to become their own health advocate. Being a midwife is not my job but my calling and I hope to make that evident in each family I serve.
