I plan to give birth in a hospital setting. As a first-time mom, I’m still learning about the overall costs, so I don’t have a defined budget at this time. I also have not created a formal birth plan yet, but I’m open to exploring my options and making informed decisions as I continue through my pregnancy.

I want to have a natural birth in the hospital. I am using medicare for a provider. I would want dim lighting and to be able to move freely if needed. IV strictly if necessary. Meditative music (possibly). Use natural techniques for pain relief. Non evasive fetal monitoring. Allow labor to progress free of time limits and strictly if necessary- last resort augmented labor. Push instinctively. Avoid Episiotomy. Lotus Birth or wait till cord is white. Partner will cut the cord. Partner or I will rub vernix into baby’s skin. Skin-to-skin with me and partner. If a boy- 3rd day circumcision. No immediate vaccines or blood drawn for baby. Combination of breast and bottle feeding.

I want to give birth to my third baby in hospital or birthing center. I have pregnancy Medicaid (Amerigroup) and would like all of the services and appointments to be covered by it. I want a vaginal delivery and probably no epidural since the last two failed. I would like delayed cord clamping and immediate skin to skin for the golden hour.

I am very scared of tearing and also making a bad decision out of fear. I’m scared of epidural and Pitocin as well (needles in general), because of some of their side effects.

Budget is negotiable as it is my first time, I’m not too sure what pricing should be, but of course the more affordable the better. But we are of course willing to pay for anything we want/need. We do not have much of a birthing plan yet, as me and my bf have not discussed it together yet. But I do like a few different ideas I have heard of. Less surgical intervention the better, that being said if I have to work harder to accomplish that, is fine.
