Hi everyone, my name is Megan. I am just in the midst of finishing up my practicum work as a birth and postpartum doula with Doula School Canada. I am located in Surrey, BC. I am deeply passionate about supporting families through the miracle of birth and the transformative journey into parenthood! Whether you want a home birth, a hospital birth, or something in between, I will offer unconditional support! My practice is completely judgement free, with my #1 goal being to support my clients and make the best out of their labour & birth experience. I also am finishing up my BA in Psychology, which helps give me insight into how I can support my clients on the emotional level, as well as developmental and attachment theory related baby care. I also offer postpartum support, and am willing to work day and night shifts.

A birth and postpartum doula is a trained, non-medical professional who provides emotional, physical, and informational support to individuals and families during pregnancy, labor and birth, and the postpartum period. Birth doulas support families during pregnancy and labor by offering continuous presence, comfort measures, coping techniques, reassurance, and evidence-based information to help clients feel informed and empowered throughout the birth process. Postpartum doulas support families after birth by assisting with the transition into parenthood. This may include emotional support, newborn care education, feeding support, recovery support for the birthing person, and practical guidance to help families rest, adjust, and build confidence during the early weeks. Overall, a birth and postpartum doula’s role is to complement medical care, advocate for client preferences, and promote a positive, supported, and respectful birth and postpartum experience.
