Birth & Postpartum Doula

About me

Hi everyone, my name is Megan. I’m a birth and postpartum doula, trained through Doula School Canada, based in Surrey, BC. I’m deeply passionate about supporting families through pregnancy, birth, and the transition into parenthood. Whether you’re planning a home birth, hospital birth, or something in between, I offer steady, non-judgmental support with the goal of helping you feel confident, informed, and cared for throughout your experience. Alongside my doula work, I’ve been practicing henna/mehndi for several years and am now offering prenatal belly henna. If this is something you’re interested in, I’m currently offering it at a reduced rate as I begin working specifically with belly designs. I’m also in the process of completing my BA in Psychology, which allows me to bring a deeper understanding of emotional support, as well as knowledge of development and attachment, into the care I provide for both parents and babies. In addition to birth support, I offer postpartum care with flexible daytime and overnight availability to help you feel supported during those early weeks.

Service introduction

A birth and postpartum doula is a trained, non-medical professional who provides emotional, physical, and informational support to individuals and families during pregnancy, labor and birth, and the postpartum period. Birth doulas support families during pregnancy and labor by offering continuous presence, comfort measures, coping techniques, reassurance, and evidence-based information to help clients feel informed and empowered throughout the birth process. Postpartum doulas support families after birth by assisting with the transition into parenthood. This may include emotional support, newborn care education, feeding support, recovery support for the birthing person, and practical guidance to help families rest, adjust, and build confidence during the early weeks. Overall, a birth and postpartum doula’s role is to complement medical care, advocate for client preferences, and promote a positive, supported, and respectful birth and postpartum experience.
