This is our first child, so I'm not sure what to expect in terms of cost. I would like to have a natural birth, and plan to breastfeed. I would like to avoid an epidural and induction if possible, and would love resources to prepare for a natural unmedicated birth. I’m in a season of trying to enjoy it all and make sure this time around I have endless support through my process. I need help with a birth plan. I know I want to try unmedicated, I want to set the mood in my delivery room with blue lights, aroma therapy and white noise or nature sounds. I plan to deliver using the squat bar method and I do want to use a mirror to see it all. I just want to be present, safe, healthy and feel in control.

Doula for hospital birth (medicated vaginal delivery is the goal)

I am a first time mother looking for support on what to expect before/during/after delivery. I plan to deliver at Methodist Mansfield Medical Center, where I actually work as a nurse. This is also my boyfriend’s first child and I want him to feel supported and know how to support me too. Ideally, we would want vaginal delivery but I am diabetic and know that babies may be larger, so I am not entirely against a c-section if that is the safest option. I do plan on having an epidural regardless but would like to incorporate other pain relief methods. I would like to create a calm environment in the delivery room. I also plan to breast feed post-birth.

My goal is a low-intervention birth with freedom to move during labor, use natural comfort measures, minimal cervical checks when appropriate, delayed cord clamping, immediate skin-to-skin contact, and uninterrupted bonding time after birth. I would prefer to avoid induction solely for convenience or to speed up labor and do not want to feel pressured into a cesarean birth unless it is medically necessary.
