I was born and raised in the Bay Area and I am the middle child to two brothers. I grew up in a tight-knit family filled with mostly women so pregnancy was around me my whole life. I was always there when family members came home helping care for them and the baby in whatever I could. I started out as a pre-school teacher and a special education teacher’s assistant, both roles I enjoyed. I did my first official doula training in 2018 and immediately knew I had found my place. Learning about the birth disparities black women face and personal experience from my own birth made my drive to help women of color come alive. I have a special interest in breastfeeding as well and I hope I can help more women and people have successful breastfeeding journeys. As an aspiring midwife and I know that being a doula will help me in my journey there. I became a birthworker because I want to help other birthing women and peoples experience power in their birth and postpartum time. When I had my daughter I had some of my power taken away from me and I want to help other birthing women and people know their rights so that can never happen. I chose this path because I want to make sure they feel loved, protected, well informed, and heard. I see it as my responsibility to my community to be of service and purposeful in the care I provide.

After a 15-year career in the medical field, Nicole has pursued her true passion of supporting families during the transformational process of childbirth as a birth doula. She has discovered her true calling. Nicole is married and has three children. Her easygoing, confident, and approachable personality, along with her good sense of humor, helps put families at ease. Nicole works well with hospital staff, birth center staff, and home birth providers, viewing her role as a team member who helps create a calm and supportive birth environment. She maintains an unbiased approach to childbirth, providing families with education and information, and empowering them to speak up. Nicole brings a variety of tools to assist families in making the best decisions for themselves. She is an expert in the use of the birth sling and provides hands-on, loving care and physical support.

Hi there! I am a birth, and postpartum doula and I work to create a calm and safe space for you as you journey through pregnancy, birth and postpartum. I prioritize your empowered and informed decision making, always turning you back to yourself and your intuition and ensuring you have all the information you need and want. I work with a holistic, traditional and Islamic framework. I believe in bringing in your belief system as the primary anchor to guide you through this process and am able to offer this especially, however not limited, to Muslim clients. My journey in birth work started at age 12, when I had the unique experience of catching my little sister. At age 22, I started my work as a volunteer doula in Vermont, serving members in the community who lacked support. My early volunteer work gave me a deep understanding of how hospitals function, and how to work with medical staff towards the best possible outcomes for parent and child. In 2023, I was trained and certified through DONA, with mentorship by Penny Bussell Stansfield and Dr. Teri Nava-Anderson. Having been through two training programs has given me a diverse range of strategies to draw upon in our prenatal planning sessions and during your labor and birth! I have been honored to participate in many birth stories, each with unique circumstances and goals. I have experience supporting medicated and unmedicated vaginal births, scheduled and emergent Cesarean births with first, second, and fourth-time parents, queer parents, low-income parents, autistic parents, non-native English-speaking parents, sexual assault survivors, people with depression, and parents of color. I am a member of the queer community and this has strengthened my belief that all bodies deserve respectful, compassionate, and culturally humble care.
