About me

Greetings & congratulations on your growing family <3 I have been a birth worker for the past ten years and have served families in a variety of locations, from a free standing birth center on the Arizona/Sonora border as an apprentice midwife, to home & hospital births all around the bay area. I approach this work from a place of trusting the mother/birthing person as an expert in their needs and experience and believing that given the right tools and support a family can advocate for the birth experience they want in any location. My approach is to prepare for labor with education in the prenatal period and work my clients to plan adequately for a postpartum that will nourish integration of this new phase of life. I also bring my background in holistic health and often refer clients to work with herbs, exercise and nutritional protocol to facilitate the experience they desire.

Ruta is an amazing doula to say the least. She services her community as if her very existence is because of doula work. She is passionate about what her client needs, wants, and desires; to create an outcome that supports healthy baby and birthing person. Her attention to detail is always felt with love and thoughtfulness. Having Ruta as your doula would be one of the greatest decisions you can make for your birthing moment.

I had such incredible experiences with Ruta! We hired Ruta as a doula for both of my daughters births, as well as for postpartum doula care with my second. Ruta is super supportive and knowledgable, she is always quick to respond to questions (I had a ton), and shared a lot of helpful info about nutrition and exercise with me leading up to labor. Labor snuck up on me and Ruta was a much needed cool, calm, and collected presence. With her coaching I think my energy in labor and was able to progress a lot more smoothly… i honestly don’t think I could have done it without her!!!!! I highly recommend using Ruta as your doula, she is the best of the best <3
