Experienced Newborn Nanny Needed – Late August/Early September We’re looking for a caring, experienced newborn nanny to help us for approximately one week after our baby arrives. Our baby is due August 28–29, but may arrive early, so we’re hoping to find someone with some flexibility around the start date. We’d love someone who can help with feeding, burping, diapering, soothing, and general newborn care. Our schedule is generally flexible, and we’re happy to discuss hours based on your availability and our needs. Absolutely. I would make it clear that you are open to combination feeding and want someone who can support breastfeeding without making every overnight feed dependent on you being awake. We are looking for a trustworthy, experienced newborn care provider to support our family during the postpartum period following a scheduled C-section. Our primary goal is to have someone we feel completely comfortable caring for our newborn overnight so that I can recover from surgery and both parents can get meaningful rest. We would prefer someone with significant newborn and infant experience who is currently certified in infant CPR and first aid. Experience as a postpartum doula, newborn care specialist, night nanny, nurse, or similar role would be ideal. Strong references and a background check are very important to us. I plan to try breastfeeding, but I am also completely comfortable supplementing with or using formula as needed. I did not breastfeed my first child, so I would especially value someone who is knowledgeable and supportive with breastfeeding basics, including positioning, latch, feeding cues, pumping, and helping me understand what is working well. We plan to take feeding one day at a time and follow what works best for both mom and baby. We are not expecting the baby to be brought to me for every overnight feeding. Depending on how breastfeeding is going, we would like our provider to be comfortable handling some overnight feeds independently with expressed breast milk or formula so that I can have longer periods of uninterrupted sleep and recovery. We are looking for someone who will support our feeding decisions without pressure and adapt as our needs change. We would also appreciate help with developmentally appropriate newborn sleep habits and safe sleep practices. We are not looking for strict sleep training during the newborn stage, but would value someone who can help us establish healthy routines. Additional support would include baby-related laundry, washing and sterilizing bottles and pump parts, preparing formula or bottles, restocking the nursery and changing areas, light tidying, and keeping the kitchen organized after overnight feeds. Minimal cooking is needed, although preparing a simple breakfast for mom before leaving in the morning would be wonderful, particularly during the first few weeks of C-section recovery. We also have a toddler, but my husband will primarily be responsible for her. We are not looking for the overnight provider to routinely care for both children. Above all, we are looking for someone dependable, gentle, experienced, and trustworthy who will care for our infant with tremendous attention and kindness. We want this person to be a calming and supportive presence in our home while we adjust to having a newborn and I recover from surgery. Our budget is flexible depending on experience, certifications, and the level of newborn and postpartum support provided.
