I'm looking for a postpartum doula in Suffolk County. Our baby is due in August, and we would like help with, newborn care (bottle feeding, diaper changes, etc), lactation education, general household help (cleaning, cooking), and postpartum mom support. Night support would be great, but we are still deciding/are flexible. A bonus is someone trained in Traditional Chinese medicine, but not required. Ideally looking for someone that my insurance covers, so budget can also be flexible.

Hi! I’m a first-time mom and currently pregnant. I’m looking for guidance on breastfeeding as I don’t have prior experience and would like to better understand how everything works. I’m interested in a combination approach (breastfeeding and bottle feeding), as my fiancé would like to be involved in feeding our baby as well. I’d like support understanding how to establish milk supply, when and how to introduce a bottle, and how to incorporate pumping into a routine. I also have questions about frequency of pumping, maintaining supply, and what a realistic feeding routine looks like in the early weeks. I am having twins. Will deliver is hospital ok with epidural want a vaginal birth of possible. Do not want episotomy unless medically necessary. I do not know what to expect finance wise for a doula I would like someone to help me with labor and delivery and guide me in the days/ weeks leading up to it. I would like assistance on prepping for lactation and maybe help postpartum with that as well as any other assistance.

- licensed lactation consultant - craniosacral therapy - my son is 2 weeks old & exclusively breast feeding - hurts when he is feeding / nipple is white & in pain after - I think the latch is shallow - I currently have mastitis - want to make sure he is feeding & draining the breast

I’m looking for a female lactation consultant that can come in person to help me figure out if I’ll be able to breast-feed. This is my second pregnancy in the first one I didn’t produce milk but in this one I have encouragement. I’m in tremendous pain in my breast and armpits and I had nipple surgery three years ago where I was told I won’t be able to breast-feed. I’m in the process of finding out if they stated that because it’s unsafe to breast-feed and they put something in my nipples or because they thought that the milk ducks will not work, which is very likely what I’m going through. I ordered the spectra S1 plus pumps because I was leaking today for the first time but nothing came out of the pumps and I’m not sure if that’s because my ducks don’t work or because I have the wrong size. I just need a lot of help and I think I need someone in person. I can’t even hold my baby because of the pain so I’m not sure what I should do and if I should continue trying or try to get rid of this milk supply.

I live in Ledyard, CT, but I plan to give birth at South County Hospital in Wakefield, RI. I am still working out the details of my birth plan, but I am hoping to have an unmedicated birth. This is my first baby, so someone knowledgeable about breastfeeding and establishing newborn sleep patterns would be appreciated. I have TriCare Prime.
