Hi! My name is Allison. I am planning to give birth at Memorial in Savannah, but live in Hinesville. My plan is to do an unmediated aged vaginal delivery while laboring at home as long as possible, but this may be tricky with an almost hour drive to the hospital. I want someone I can discuss my birth preferences with and just someone to be an advocate for me.

I would ideally like to have a home birth or go to a birthing center. But also lean toward hospital incase anything were to happen. I don’t know what normal budget for a doula is, I am a first time mom and will do my research on this. I would like to have immediate skin to skin when baby is born. I do not want my baby taken out of the room at all for any reason. I do not want anything done to myself or baby with getting consent and explaining in detail what it is/what it is for. I DO NOT want an episiotomy. I want delayed cord clamping until the cord is no longer pulsating and is white. I want to keep my placenta. I the list goes on and on and I would like to discuss more with whoever I choose as my doula.

Looking for a certified doula who can help with prenatal planning for delivery, be present from start of delivery up until baby is able to successfully latch/initiate breastfeeding, advocate to medical professionals for me and baby, help avoid unnecessary medical intervention, be very well trained and experienced, able to help with placenta encapsulation, help with lactation support. I am having a hospital birth at northside hospital. I am hoping to have an unmedicated birth and no c section unless a medical emergency. I want to be able to move around as much as possible and do different positions (not just lying on my back) I would like some time before the placenta comes out (hopefully it will detach on its own) I don’t want any Pitocin and I would like myself and the baby’s dad to be able to do skin to skin contact with the baby the first hour. Had a full term vaginal birth before back in October 2012, I’ve never had a doula before so I don’t know the cost but I am interested in having one.
