I had an initial consultation with Shannon, and she was absolutely wonderful! She was so kind and easy to talk to, which made the session genuinely enjoyable. Shannon is extremely knowledgeable and took the time to walk me through all of my options and the details of each, which helped me make the best decision for my situation. I would highly recommend her to anyone looking for lactation and/or feeding support!
— Jess M
Five days after my first daughter was born, I had bruised and bleeding nipples and was unable to breastfeed her because of the pain. Panic and fear set in, and we had to scramble to figure out the pump so she was fed for that night. We were lucky enough to get an appointment with Nicole the next morning, and she fixed the latch and gave us so many pointers that eased our feeding journey. Six months into EBF now, and I can say with confidence that meeting with Nicole was one of the best things we did for ourselves postpartum. I would recommend her to all moms who are keen on breastfeeding and are having difficulties.
— Prerana Chinnappa
Highly recommend this place. My son was having latching issues, and we saw Shannon - she was truly wonderful and very knowledgeable. In just two sessions, she helped me build confidence in my breastfeeding journey and patiently answered all my questions. I’m incredibly grateful for her support.
— Rajul Mittal
I cannot recommend Shannon enough. From our very first appointment, she made me feel completely at ease during what can be an overwhelming and emotional time. Her patience is truly exceptional — she never made me feel rushed or like any of my questions were too small or too basic.
What sets her apart is her empathy. She genuinely understands the challenges new mothers face and meets you exactly where you are, without judgment. Every concern I brought to her was met with kindness and thoughtful guidance.
Her support went beyond just the practical advice — she was encouraging when I needed a confidence boost and honest when I needed real answers.
— B. L.
Nicole & the team were instrumental in my lactation journey. They built my confidence early on (when I really needed it), were there for me in tough early days, and continued to offer guidance as time went on. Their help was invaluable and I truly feel that my success in this journey was in large part due to their support.
— Ana
I could not recommend Thrive more. Nicole is the best!!! Nicole helped me in my most vulnerable time post partum. She helped me navigate breastfeeding initially with prenatal appointments which helped me produce colastrum and collected enough to have a large supply which I was able to use for my baby as he unexpectedly went to the NICU. She’s coached me through 9 months of BF, through supply changes, navigating back to work, and daycare. I wouldn’t have had such a special time breast feeding if it were not for her support, guidance, and empowerment. I highly recommend thrive!!
— Sydney Kane
Nicole & Shannon are absolutely incredible. I had set up a session before baby came and it was a great intro to everything - super detailed and helpful. I had a very traumatic birth but they both helped me figure out the right plan for us with various virtual appts and one in home where they were so caring and helpful. Would highly recommend them to anyone expecting!
— martha segovia
Nicole is an exceptional lactation consultant who combines deep expertise with a warm, supportive approach. She took the time to understand my specific concerns, offered clear and practical guidance, and created a comfortable environment throughout the process. Her professionalism, compassion, and thoughtful follow-up made a significant difference in my breastfeeding journey, and I highly recommend her to anyone seeking expert and caring lactation support.
— Neha Sharma
My Wife has gone here multiple times and we can't say enough nice things about Shannon. She has been super responsive and helpful for our issues. Highly recommend if you need a lactation specialist.
— Spence P
I came to Thrive when I was experiencing very painful and severe clogged milk ducts. Every day was a struggle. I received Therapeutic Ultrasound treatment, and after three consecutive sessions, the clogs on both sides were completely resolved.
I’m incredibly grateful for Nicole’s care and expertise. She treated me with so much empathy and made me feel supported during a really difficult time. Her compassion gave me the confidence and courage to continue my breastfeeding journey. Highly recommend Thrive to any breastfeeding moms in need of help!
— Heidi J
I'm a little late in writing this, but if you are having difficulties or complications with nursing/pumping, have questions or just need support, I would 100% recommend coming here. I was a very low producer, I have thyroid problems and I went to a lactation consultant at VMC that told me I needed to triple feed. So I wanted to get another opinion. I found this place online and saw Nicole. She was so supportive, knowledgeable and gave me hope that others did not. Unfortunately, I saw her too late that my mental health could not handle everything anymore, so I moved on from trying to nurse/pump. But if we have another baby and need help again, I know where to go!
P.S: I also want to add that Nicole was the only other person to agree with us that our baby had oral ties that we should get evaluated. The other lactation consultant and even at her pediatricians office made it like it wasn't that bad, but our baby was struggling with feeding for the first couple of months, which was just another thing that made everything so hard when trying to nurse. She recommended a place to take our daughter and this dentist was amazing too. She ended up having her tongue, lip and cheeks released. That's how bad it was.
— Kelli B.
I’m so grateful for the support and education I received here as a first-time mom. My therapist and a couple of good friends highly recommended seeing Nicole, and I’m so glad I did. I met with her for a prenatal consult to better understand breastfeeding, and followed up with a few appointments after my baby was born to make sure we had a good latch and to track how much she was drinking. My husband joined me for the post-baby appointments, and it was so helpful for him to understand how to support both me and our baby. You think breastfeeding will come naturally, but it’s not always easy—and having this guidance made such a difference. I can’t recommend them enough for the reassurance, resources, and support they provide to new parents!
— Jamie Martinez Anderson
I was specifically looking for a lactation consultant that would be able to see me asap as I was truly struggling with nursing my daughter. Nicole answered and was able to see me the next day. She was so supportive and validated all of my concerns, while sharing her knowledge and encouraging both me and my partner. Very responsive, the website portal was very helpful, and the office is beautiful!
— Erika Lower
We worked with Shannon on our baby’s bottle refusal. Shannon was very kind and super knowledgeable. With just two sessions and lots of actionable tips, our baby started happily taking the bottle.
— Amy
Wonderful people here! They filled in the gaps in information we didn’t receive/ were too overwhelmed to retain after our son was born. Very beneficial appointment, my wife and i both agree 100% recommend.
— Yit
I am SO thankful for Thrive! Everyone is very kind, considerate and supportive. After having our first baby I needed a lot of support, not just with nursing, but not feeling isolated. I have one of the rare insurances that doesn't cover lactation support, so they were so considerate of that, helping me get support that was respectful of my budget. Additionally, everything is very reasonably priced and the free support group has been a life saver! If Thrive didn't exist I would not want to know what my first months of motherhood would have looked like - they have helped me that much!
— S.G. Hoffman
Shannon is absolutely incredible! Both in her lactation knowledge and also helping me celebrate my wins and supporting me as a new mom. I have worked with her with both of my daughters for a wide variety of issues (tongue tie, oral/body tension, low supply, oversupply, tips regarding extended breastfeeding/tandem nursing, etc.) and every time she has been so wonderful. I recommend her to everyone I know who is planning to breastfeed!
— Enrica Maffucci
I'm so glad to have found Thrive Lactation. Nicole was caring and supportive, and helped identified issues with tongue and lip ties. Later, she helped me through a period of painful feeds with a teething baby. Nicole shared some recommendations and provided guidance that improved our feeding journey. I highly recommend Thrive Lactation!
— Angie Lee
I am incredibly grateful to have connected with Thrive Lactation Services. As a first-time mom, I was completely new to breastfeeding. I appreciate Nicole for quickly scheduling an appointment with Shannon, which was such a relief since those first few days are crucial for establishing breastfeeding.
Working with Shannon was an incredible experience! She is incredibly knowledgeable, kind, and patient. She helped me create a plan, troubleshoot challenges, and establish breastfeeding successfully. I struggled with latch and positioning, and her guidance made all the difference. She patiently answered all my questions, both in person and during virtual visits, always making me feel supported.
Thanks to Shannon’s expertise, I am able to exclusively breastfeed, making my feeding journey truly beautiful. I wholeheartedly recommend Shannon and Thrive Lactation to any new parent in need of support!
— Nishita Kheur
The wonderful support offered at Thrive saved my breastfeeding journey. I worked mostly with Shannon. She is warm, welcoming, and so knowledgeable. I’m so grateful to have had this resource freshly postpartum and beyond. The weekly support group is also a great way to meet other moms and build community.
— Courtney Santos
I cannot speak highly enough of Shannon and Nicole. They are both so kind and knowledgeable! My breastfeeding journey was successful thanks to Shannon. She was extremely sensitive and helpful with navigating the challenges that come with beginning to breastfeed.
— Lindsey Gloekler
I couldn’t be more pleased with my experiences at Thrive. I’ve been there with 2 of my babies (so far, more to be determined!) and received such compassionate care from Nicole. We had latch issues, tongue and lip ties, severe pain with nursing. Nicole helped us identify the problems and find solutions to ease our breastfeeding journey. I highly highly recommend Thrive for every breastfeeding mama, and especially for those experiencing issues. I hope to see them again in the future with my next babies!
— Kayleen Jones
I cannot recommend Thrive Lactation enough - from the very beginning, Nicole has been incredibly helpful, responsive, and supportive. She always answers my questions in a timely manner, providing both guidance and reassurance. Her wealth of knowledge and compassionate approach made all the difference in my breastfeeding journey. She truly listens, offers practical solutions, and ensures you feel empowered every step of the way. If you’re looking for a knowledgeable, kind, and dedicated lactation consultant, she's the one!
— Rachael Krebsbach
I had an excellent experience here! Nicole was amazing to work with and answered all my questions. She helped guide us on how a proper latch should look and gave me lots of great tips. I also loved the postpartum mom support group. Definitely recommend!
— Angela Chen
I cannot say good enough things about Nicole! I though my baby had a good latch and strong suck, but in going to Nicole we discovered that he had a moderate tongue and minor lip tie that we opted to address. She was able to give meaningful advice and provided kind and caring service. When I needed to go back months later to see if I could up my supply, there was no question I wanted to go back to Nicole. I followed her recommendations and have successfully upped my supply and increased by stash. I also love the location!
— Courtney Engles
Nicole is an absolute life-saver. In the days after our daughter was born my wife and I struggled to get her to feed properly. Nicole was able to see us on very short notice (next day!) and completely transformed our feeding journey.
— Joseph Weston
Referred by our tongue tie specialist, Nicole from Thrive helped us achieve our breastfeeding goal with confidence, forever grateful!
— Zoey Leung
Nicole was so helpful to me and my son in our breastfeeding journey! She gave me small, attainable goals to strive for as we tried to find a good latch. I would recommend Thrive to anyone needing breast feeding support!
— Bess Altamura
The providers are warm, welcoming and previous LND RN's & IBCLC. This stage of life is a learning process and this clinic can help! I went to two appointments and learned new techniques at each one. They also measured me for a better fitting pump flange. Which was so helpful.
Double check insurance benefits through your insurance & network. The Lactation Network through the clinic said I was approved for insurance. Turns out the clinic was an out of network provider. We had to pay out of pocket. :(
If it wasn't for my insurance issue I would go back again for a pumping plan.
— Maura Gannon
My wife and I have had an absolutely fantastic experience at Thrive. The nurses there are incredibly knowledgeable, kind and caring. They've really helped us improve the breastfeeding experience with our baby. Can't recommend Thrive highly enough.
— Pop Tartleson
Thanks to Nicole at Thrive, my breastfeeding journey has been a smooth and beautiful experience that I cherish! Nicole helped me establish a strong foundation while I was still pregnant. Leading up to my c section & immediately afterwards, I knew what steps to take to establish my milk supply and get off to a great start. In the early weeks, Nicole helped us troubleshoot my baby’s positioning and was so helpful when my supply suddenly dropped. I’m now breastfeeding at the 6 month mark and incredibly grateful for Nicole’s wise and thoughtful guidance. I wholeheartedly recommend Thrive to any expecting mama! The prenatal consult is worth it’s weight in gold & is an amazing investment to get off on the right foot immediately after birth.
— Christina Park
I loved Thrive! Nicole helped transform me and my newborns life. I went from being in tears and about to give up on breastfeeding to having a baby who is fully breastfeeding in a few weeks. She helped me with so many other tips and tricks too. I can’t say enough about this place! It’s also a super cute and friendly atmosphere! I felt much more supported and understood by Thrive than when I worked with hospital lactation. If you are thinking about going here you definitely should! There are also group classes too!
— Sefra Mendall
I can not recommend Thrive enough! If anyone needed to know how to run an incredible business they should take pointers from Thrive, even before arriving at their beautiful office they are wonderful at communicating. Prompt communication, emails and information. They truly care about their patients, I needed several appointments during the holidays and they were always willing to make room on the schedule even come in on a holiday to help me and my baby. Upon arrival the staff are so welcoming, I was really nervous but that all went away as soon as I walked in. The entire staff is knowledgeable, passionate, caring and up to date on new practices and evolving research. In one hour I learned more about breastfeeding from my provider than I think I could have ever learned from research online. I will continue singing praises about this group and continue recommending them to everyone I know.
— Danielle McCormack
I've been meaning to write this review for a while and finally sat down to do it. I am so grateful for Thrive Lactation and Shannon in particular. I was determined to be able to breastfeed my third baby after having been unsuccessful with my premie twins.
We had a rough start with a lot of pain and sensitivity in breastfeeding. I worked with lactation at my hospital and while they were lovely and very supportive, the issues continued. I was ready to quit at around four weeks' postpartum, but in a last ditch effort, I searched for other lactation support and found Thrive. They were immediately able to get me in and Shannon became a lifesaver.
At my first appointment she was able to identify a lip and tongue tie that had previously been undiagnosed and was causing issues with breastfeeding and a significant amount of pain to me. She referred me to a wonderful dentist and OT and after getting the lip and tongue tie resolved at around 7 weeks things began to immediately improve. While there was some regression in the following weeks, my baby and I kept working at it and by about 2.5 months we were set.
Shannon was a godsend and so helpful through it all. From visits to responding to messages in between, I felt totally supported. We are now closing in at 8 months' postpartum with successful breastfeeding and well-past my 6-month goal. So so grateful to Thrive and Shannon for all they do to support and help.
— Rachel Burkhart
Two women have created an inviting and safe space for new parents to figure out their feeding journey:
-Shannon, very familiar with tongue ties, referred us to an expert dentist in the area, and later an amazing OT to help with baby's oral motor skills. Always very supportive.
-Nicole, which I worked with briefly, knowledgeable and helpful. She even mailed some supplies I needed from their shop and couldn't pick up.
Breastfeeding never quite worked for us unfortunately. I wish we tried some advanced methods like nursing tubes..
Overall I appreciate the effort and I DO recommend Thrive lactation to new parents.
— Sarah
We worked with Nicole for our newborn through one month. She was amazing to work with through our journey.
— Cheryl L
Nicole is very caring and knowledgeable. She’s all the help you would need for such an important journey.
— Rena Tsantouli
Absolute lifesavers. Our baby is one week old today and we would not be where we are at without Thrive's amazing guidance
— Jason Gibbons
If you are expecting, book an appointment with Thrive ASAP! They are a wealth information and so incredibly kind and helpful.
— Anna Coyle
I simply cannot put into words how amazing Shannon is! As a second time mom who anticipated my breastfeeding journey to be the same as my first and was totally taken aback when it wasn’t, Shannon was there to help me navigate the newness. Incredibly knowledgeable, skilled, personable, caring, and encouraging, Shannon helped me preserve my exclusively breastfeeding journey with my daughter! You’re safe here, they will give you a shoulder to cry on (quite literally) if you need it, formulate a plan, and help you achieve whatever goal you are striving towards in your journey! 100% 10/10 recommend! Look no further and RUN don’t walk, if you’re considering!
— Autumn Burns
Shannon at Thrive is AMAZING! I came to her before even having my second to discuss a BF plan and only three days after birth to check in on weight and make sure latching was going well. A few months into my BF journey I had another check in about a latch issue and Shannon knew exactly what I needed to do to solve the problem. Shannon listens, is so knowledgeable, checks in, and makes you feel like you’re on the journey together. I saw an LC in Seattle with my first, but would have driven all the way to Issaquah had I known about Thrive. Best part- insurance covered every visit, they even do home visits, and you can book through text. 10/10!
— Melina Garcia
So thrilled I found this place to help me with my breastfeeding, then pumping, then weaning journey. They were so understanding and non-judgemental all the way through and offered the most helpful advice and guidance!
— Corrie Boese
After being misdiagnosed as an oversupply/fast letdown issue by multiple LCs and a stressful 6 weeks of trying 10 different things to solve that issue with no improvement, we finally met Nicole who diagnosed the right issue ( tongue and lip tie). She referred us to an experienced pediatric dentist and set us up with feeding therapy and my baby started feeding from me peacefully. Thanks Nicole for making our breastfeeding journey enjoyable and peaceful.
— Ashvini Krishna Ayyasamy
We were referred here after our son had a procedure for a tongue, lip and buckle ties fixed. We’re so grateful to have been referred here and the support received at each appointment. I wouldn’t have been able to have a sucessful breast feeding journey if it wasn’t for Nicole, prior to my son having his procedure, breastfeeding was painful. After his procedure, there was a bit of a learning curve to get him to latch properly as well as get him to gain weight. Nicole put together a feeding plan and we continued to do weighted feeds, breastfeeding now is a lot less stressful and my son latches so much better. Having a compassionate/knowledgeable LC in your corner makes all the difference, we’ll continue to refer Thrive Lactation to other parents. I truly believe I would’ve stopped breastfeeding due to pain if we hadn’t come to Nicole for guidance
— Hazel Miranda
Thrive Lactation was such a gift in my first time breastfeeding experience! I worked with Shannon who was so reassuring and supportive from day one. There’s so much you don’t know as a first time mom and there’s always a million different opinions (even professionally) on how to do things. Shannon was the one source I’ve consistently been able to trust and depend on. I left every appointment feeling more confident and less anxious as a mom. I never felt judged or criticized, just encouraged in my abilities as a mom. If you’re even thinking about trying a lactation consultant here, I highly recommend you do! Shannon has been pivotal in my breastfeeding success and my baby is thriving!
— Taylor
Shannon was fantastic to resolve me and my baby’s breastfeeding woes! My baby was quite gassy and fussy after breastfeeding. He had no issues after having the breast milk in the bottle. Shannon suggested a few postures and corrected our existing posture. She also recommended some exercises and massage techniques to help improve the baby’s latch. We’re still trying to work through all of Shannon’s suggestions. That being said, making the simplest of adjustments and improvements based on Shannon’s suggestions has made a world of a difference in our breastfeeding journey. Thank you Shannon!!
— Divya Gandhi
I worked with Nicole. In just three visits she completely turned around our nursing journey. She has so much information, answers for everything. The home visit was the icing on the cake so I didn’t have to pack up the baby and I could work on positioning in the places I nurse the most. Would absolutely recommend them, the communication and scheduling was easy, very responsive and got me in within a few days even with their busy schedules.
— Jamie O'Brien
I had a challenging start with breastfeeding, but working with Thrive Lactation & Wellness, Nicole, made all the difference. Nicole's expertise and compassionate support helped me overcome my initial difficulties. She provided practical advice and emotional encouragement, making me feel more confident and comfortable with breastfeeding. Thanks to her guidance, I now enjoy a much smoother breastfeeding experience. I highly recommend Thrive Lactation and Nicole to any new mother facing breastfeeding challenges.
— Daphne Chou
First time mom. Worked with Nicole, she guided me through breast feeding and over supply. I also learned how to massage my baby and release some tight muscles.
— Ellie Wilson
Nicole is such an amazing resource and source of support to any postpartum mama! I’m so glad I found Thrive and Nicole absolutely helped save my breastfeeding experience. I highly recommend Thrive to anyone looking for more breastfeeding support!
— Sarah Smith
Thrive Lactation has been the BEST THING TO HAPPEN TO ME during my postpartum journey. Nicole is deeply caring, incredibly knowledgeable, and a wonderful teacher. I’ve learned so much about how to breastfeed and care for and heal my breasts already and I’ve only see her a few times. I will be recommending her to EVERYONE I know who is pregnant. I first got referred to her for mastitis which she completely fixed, and I am now doing lactation appointments with her as well. The space itself is peaceful, comfortable and beautiful.
— Christine Stark
What an amazing experience. I have moved, not only myself, but my children to Dr.Wood. Stephanie is amazing at the front desk and goes above and beyond the help her clients
— Jessica Howe
I found Thrive by chance at a time when I needed them the most! We had just arrived home back in Seattle after an unexpected, six weeks early delivery and two week NICU stay down in Portland. Because my son was a premie, he took about a month before fully latching and I was feeling so discouraged until I found Thrive. Shannon has been so amazing to work with and has really made such a difference in feedings! They no longer end in tears and both Mom and baby are in such better spirits. I cannot recommend Thrive enough!
— Samantha Johnson
Shannon provided top-notch services to me and my newborn as we navigated the first few weeks of our feeding journey. Shannon was responsive to my concerns, provided great educational resources, and followed up frequently. I wish I had access to Thrive with my first baby. I continue to recommend Thrive and Shannon for IBCLC services to our friends.
— Becca Tollefson Kneepkens
After having multiple bad experiences with 3 different lactation consultants at other clinics, Thrive was a totally different and refreshing experience from the moment i contacted them to book an appointment. My first appointment was the best help i had gotten and felt the most compassion from all the staff there, it was definitely worth my 45min drive, each way, in traffic. All appointments, texts, and emails thereafter were all super helpful and flexible. I plan to reach out to Thrive in the future for future lactation concerns with baby #2!
— Sarah Bae
Shannon is an amazing person and a wonderful professional! She was really helpful solving all our doubts and questions, I am a first time mom and I was so stressed with my baby’s latching issues, Shannon and her team were so empathetic and supportive the whole time, sharing with me new positions and reviewing my existing ones, making suggestions and improvements. I felt in a safe space, not being judged at anytime. I’m so happy with the results and practicing all that I learned! Thanks Shannon :-)
— Nidia Maldonado
Shannon was so incredibly kind, helpful and easy to talk to. She had a very hands on approach which allowed us to figure out some solutions. She followe up with us to check in and answer any questions we had! Highly recommend!
— Katrina Millet
Words can’t even express how thankful I am for finding Thrive and Nicole. I visited for the first time a few days postpartum, a terrified first time mom. Nicole (and everyone I ever interacted with there) was truly the guiding light I needed in my breastfeeding journey. She was calm, patient, the best listener and helped to put me at ease. I definitely had struggles with feeding that we worked through with each session. Now 6 weeks later, I see the beauty in breastfeeding and throughly enjoy it. I very much feel that is all thanks to Nicole. I would recommend Thrive and Nicole to any person out there. (Also, a huge plus that’s they work with the Lactation Network so many insurances and accepted)
— Amy Naccarato
I worked with Shannon and can't recommend her enough. She provided the reassurance I needed and shared a lot of personalized advice.
Breastfeeding is hard, and for all moms out there, I want to say it doesn't have to be exclusive. There are tons of advantages to combo feeding. You've got to do what works for you and what keeps you sane in the first few months of your parental journey!
— Katya Sudbinina
I cannot recommend Thrive Lactation & Wellness enough. After a disappointing experience with a different lactation specialist, where I left in pain and felt my concerns were not fully addressed, I discovered Thrive Lactation & Wellness and booked an appointment with Shannon. From the first visit, Shannon made a significant difference by correctly sizing me for my pump—a change from the previous incorrect size. Nervously, I went home to pump and was amazed at the immediate reduction in pain and achieved my highest milk supply output that day! 🍼✨
Shannon took the time to discuss my breastfeeding goals, helping me understand my baby's latch and how to better position both myself and my baby for more comfort.
I am incredibly grateful to have found Thrive and cannot recommend them enough! ❤️
— Sarah
My family has had the best experience with Thrive Lactation & Wellness. Shannon Rastetter provided information that was educational and practical. Went above and beyond and answered all our questions which left us well equipped. As a second time mother you always think you know what to expect until the unexpected happens. Absolutely grateful and I would highly recommend Thrive Lactation and Wellness. The peace of mind is worth it!
— Mpho Mphahlele
I cannot speak highly enough about my experience with Nicole at Thrive Lactation & Wellness. Before seeking her help, I was overwhelmed with triple feeding, over-supply, and transfer issues affecting my baby's weight gain.
From the very first visit, Nicole's expertise and compassion were evident. She not only helped me navigate the challenges of breastfeeding but also provided invaluable support and guidance that ultimately lead me to exclusively breastfeed my baby. Each visit was a revelation, leading to increased confidence, healing of discomfort, and reduction of stress. Thanks to Nicole, breastfeeding has become a source of joy and convenience, significantly reducing stress in my life. The fact that our visits were covered by insurance was an added bonus.
I wholeheartedly recommend Thrive Lactation & Wellness to any parent seeking expert lactation support.
— Tiye Massey
Can’t recommend Thrive enough! I saw Shannon when my babe was 2 months old. She was constantly having quick little feeds and had a poor latch which was all resulting in tummy troubles. On top of that she wouldn’t have anything to do with a bottle or pacifier.
Shannon listened to my struggles with nursing and helped me set goals with where I wanted to be when it came to feeding. She checked her mouth for any ties, had me try a different feeding position and helped me with some techniques for latching.
She also recommended a certain pacifier since my girl wasn’t taking one but wanted to nurse to sleep and now she’s using it to fall asleep 👏🏼
If you’re lost or needing a little guidance with feeding I highly recommend Thrive. I was given the hands on help that I needed along with helpful resources. So happy I found them🙂
— Stephanie Anderson
After the birth of my twins I was recommended to Thrive by a friend and it was a wonderful experience! The babies are my second and third but nursing x2 was brand new. I had the basics down but Shannon’s guidance, suggestions and affirmations were so valuable. From latch issues to mouth exercises to making sure my pump shields were the correct size, Shannon advised on it all! She is so kind and sweet, it felt like I was meeting with a friend who happened to know everything about nursing. I’m hoping to nurse my twins for a year and meeting with Shannon has helped me feel confident in achieving that goal. Do yourself the biggest favor and book an appointment or three with Thrive.
— Kelsey Myking
This review has been long overdue. Working with Nicole has been an absolutely fantastic experience. My breastfeeding journey began on a very difficult note. Shortly after my baby was born, he struggled to latch properly due to a tongue tie and rapidly lost weight. This led to excruciating pain during breastfeeding, as he would frequently chomp down. Despite my strong desire to exclusively nurse him, I found myself dreading every feeding session due to the pain. We resorted to triple feeding for a period, aiming to ensure he drank enough while maintaining my milk supply. I constantly used nipple shields and various ointments to heal my cracked and sore nipples.
Over the course of 1.5 months, Nicole provided me with an abundance of invaluable tips and suggestions to enhance my breastfeeding experience. With each session, I gained new insights and grew more confident in my ability to nourish my baby through nursing. Nicole didn't just make breastfeeding easier for me; she actually helped me find joy in it. I no longer rely on triple feeding, nipple shields, or any nipple ointments. Furthermore, every session with her served as a boost to my confidence as a mother. I was genuinely saddened when our last session arrived.
I wholeheartedly recommend Nicole and Thrive Lactation to anyone seeking assistance with their breastfeeding or pumping journey with their little one.
— Vrinda Gupta
I am so grateful for the experience we’ve had with Thrive! Although my son had been nursing well and growing well since birth, I had concerns about oversupply and engorgement, and felt unsure about how to proceed with pumping and bottle feeding when I return to work. Shannon helped us in soo many ways, helping me understand and navigate my existing concerns and alleviating worries about the future. She also taught us some new feeding positions, as well as tips and exercises to improve my baby’s latch, and provided weighted feeds to help me understand how efficient he is with nursing. In only 2 visits, this place has helped me feel more confident and relaxed about our feeding journey and I feel great knowing I can easily return for another appointment in the future if other concerns or issues arise! (Thanks to the 8 free visits I get through the Lactation Network with my insurance!)
— Chelsea Barroero
Thrive is an amazing resource. From our first prenatal visit through to our last postpartum visit we have been supported and guided in our breastfeeding journey.
We started with a prenatal visit to make sure we knew what to expect and how to handle those first feedings in the hospital after our daughter was born. We then followed up after she was born to make sure we were on the right track. Our daughter struggled a little bit with weight gain but Thrive was there every step of the way helping with suggestions and guidance to get us through the challenge.
— Brandy Toler
I was really struggling with BF and initially went to my hospitals recommended Lactation place a few times, I hated it and felt like none of my concerns were being addressed at all. So, I searched on google to find a new place and stumbled upon Thrive and decided to give them a try and chose to book with Shannon. I’m so glad I came here!! Everything I was concerned about was addressed and I was actually given advice on what to do as well as hands on learning. I also needed to be fit for a proper flange size and Shannon actually measured me, unlike the other place who just eyeballed my measurements. I highly recommend this place, it was such a great experience and I’m so grateful for the help and care they provided!
— Cassidy Reis
Nicole is very nice and knowledgeable. She helped me achieved almost exclusive breastfeeding (with very small amount of top ups of pumped milk) in just 2 sessions. She gave me many valuable advice on how to create a good latch and helped me adjust feeding schedules according to baby's weight gain trend. She listens to me patiently and created a very comfortable environment for me and my husband to discuss concerns and plans, and for my baby to be fed and weighed. I am very satisfied with the end result and would recommend it to every new mom who is trying to breastfeed.
— Cyan F2
Had a great experience with Nicole who provided invaluable support, helping my baby latch effortlessly and teaching me effective breastfeeding skills. With her guidance, I've gained confidence and my baby is thriving. Grateful for her expertise and care!
— Jessie T
A friend referred me to Shannon at Thrive when I was two weeks postpartum, ready to give up on breastfeeding and unable to get in with an LC at the hospital for two more weeks. Shannon is a truly compassionate person and really wants to see you succeed in your feeding goals, whatever they may look like for you. It took a few weeks to hit our stride but even when I would feel defeated, Shannon had more ideas for me to try, and I would leave each appointment feeling hopeful and optimistic. After three appointments I started having success and baby and I have been on a roll since! I’m so grateful, as I really wanted to have the experience. I wish I had known about Thrive when I had my first baby; how different our (very short lived) breastfeeding experience might have been!
— Kristin Spaans
I had great experiences with Nicole and her intern Tara. They both are incredibly kind, compassionate, and knowledgeable. I was having issues with clogged ducts and low supply to where we were needing to supplement with formula, as well as painful nipples and a not-so-great latch. What I saw as all separate issues, they were able to help me see how they connected, give me advice to manage, and identified possible tongue/lip ties that we can now get evaluated. I was feeling pretty discouraged and overwhelmed before seeing them, but now have a good plan in place to achieve my goal of exclusively breastfeeding! I would highly recommend them to anyone needing lactation support!
— Harmony Low
Nicole and thrive lactation were fantastic. My baby would not latch without a nipple shield and we were struggling to gain weight. Nicole made latching feel “simple”. She explained well with visuals but was hands free enough that I felt empowered to be able to do it myself. She helped my partner and me come up with a sleep schedule that made us feel sane again. Thank you!!
— Lauren Johnson
I met with Nicole a number of times throughout my breastfeeding journey with my first baby and she has been super helpful in helping us solve a variety of problems we faced. I would highly recommend working with Nicole if you need help with breastfeeding or pumping!
— Julia John
Thrive lactation and wellness is a wonderful local resource we are lucky to have in Issaquah. I believe Thrive and their services played a large role in making my breast feeding journey successful from the start. I received clear instruction on collecting colostrum, what to expect for golden hour since I had a c-section and what I could expect in the first hours and days after delivering. Nicole was very wonderful to work with and helped to make the instruction feel so much more personal than the quick chats you get with lactation services at the hospital. I highly recommend utilizing their services. I plan on attending the eating solids classes at Thrive when we are ready to start the next step in our feeding journey.
— Nicole Smith
I’m so happy I found Thrive Lactation. Their space is cute and comfortable. I first scheduled a prenatal consultation. Nicole was very thorough and explained the tips to successful breastfeeding well. It was also informative to hear about how to be an advocate for yourself and your baby when in a hospital setting. Our baby was born around Christmas and Nicole was able to fit us in around busy holiday schedules. I always felt very comfortable and learned something each time I went. I would highly recommend Thrive Lactation!
— Kayla Schumacher
I cannot recommend enough Nicole and Shannon at Thrive Lactation & Wellness, they are incredible, kind, supportive, and extremely knowledgeable providers! The postpartum journey lacks so much support, but this is definitely the one area where I felt supported and well taken care of. We worked on latching, positions, schedules, best practices, how to deal with engorgement, avoid mastitis, and optimize my supply. These consults really set us up for success with our breastfeeding journey. They gave us so many tools and helped me feel confident. Several months later, I contacted them to see if they could help us because our daughter was not taking a bottle and Nicole immediately scheduled us and found a dozen ways to help. I am so thankful and I have already referred several friends to them!
— Esther Le Grézause
Thrive totally saved our nursing experience! We were able to book an appointment with short notice after we started off with things going pretty poorly. They discovered a easy to miss tongue tie and even got us connected with someone who could see us for a laser procedure within a few days! Things improved so quickly and our follow-up visits kept us on the right track. This is my fourth kiddo and. my seventh year nursing a baby but we still needed a ton of help and I am so glad this was available. The office is beautiful and reminds me of visiting a spa! I pass their info onto all my new mom friends!
— Laura Fowls
I wish every woman had access to this quality care. I highly recommend Thrive. Nicole is one of the most knowledgeable, thoughtful, caring, supportive, least judgmental professionals I have met thru my motherhood journey. She is highly responsive and was willing to meet with me late at night and come in on her day off to save me from a bad case of mastitis. She addressed a large number of questions I had found mixed information on and helped my breastfeeding journey so much. I’m so grateful to have found Thrive and would recommend them to all my friends and family!
— Marina Boleda Taylor
My experience with Thrive Lactation & Wellness was amazing. Nicole is my lactation consultant and she was outstanding. She did an excellent job of providing guidance and explaining all the details so that I could easily understand and implement the techniques I've learned. She makes you feel very comfortable to ask questions and the facility is very cozy and easy to nurse in. I highly recommend doing the "Prenatal Consultation" before baby arrives for it definitely prepared me for what to expect and how to go about breastfeeding when I delivered (my first baby)! I am very grateful to have found this place :)
— Jennifer Vrable
Nicole and Shannon are amazing! They have helped me even before my baby was born. Breastfeeding is a beast by itself and when you add all the overloading of becoming a parent, postpartum, taking care of a newborn, trying to find a new routine, sleep depravation, and so on, it's just too much. If are struggling with BF, you need help. Nicole and Shannon know their stuff and they can help you conquer BF. Trust me! Also if at any time during your BF journey you need further help (clogged ducts and mastitis, hello!), you should reach out to them. They also offer treatment for stubborn clogged ducts through ultrasound waves aka magic 🪄✨ Their space is fantastic, very cozy. You will be in great hands.
— Dayane Duarte
We were referred to Thrive Lactation & Wellness by a pediatric dentist who vouched for how comprehensive and intentional the visits would be- and he was so right. We worked with Shannon and her encouragement, vast knowledge and kindness really launched our breastfeeding journey in the best way after a hard first couple of days. Shannon included my husband in our visits which helped me feel like feeding our daughter was a shared responsibility. The space is gorgeous and bright and feels so cozy. Shannon checked in on us between visits and celebrated with us when our daughter reached her birth weight!
— Ilmihana Krsin-Polk
The information and guidance we have received from Nicole has been invaluable. Thanks to her careful instruction, we went into our delivery and first feeding with confidence, and within just a couple of weeks with our newborn we achieved pain-free breastfeeding and healthy weight gain. The Thrive office is beautiful and homey, and the consultants are professional and responsive. I am so grateful for their continued support!
— Allison Danis
We had an excellent experience working with Nicole! We made an appointment right away after our son was born. As first time parents, we needed help learning the basics. Our son has been growing like a weed with a great latch thanks to the guidance of Thrive lactation, AND our visits were fully covered by insurance!
They saved me significant pain because what we had been doing was causing damage and I had no idea. They helped me reverse the damage and prevent further damage.
Do not wait to have issues breastfeeding! I cannot recommend Thrive Lactation consultants enough. I’m so grateful for their help and the peace of mind they provided!
— Rebecca Rees
I can’t put into words how grateful I am for Thrive. I’ve had subpar experiences with IBCLCs in the past - my first baby was fully unable to latch and we were never successful breastfeeding and my second was latching but not pulling much milk. Thrive was my last hope for help with my second and Nicole completely changed the feeding experience for me. She asked me about my goals, which no one has ever done. I didn’t feel judged, instead I felt supported and was given hope and a roadmap at each session. She gave me confidence and knowledge, and ultimately my baby and I were able to successfully continue our breastfeeding journey better than I could have imagined. I’m so grateful for Nicole and Thrive!
— Kate Downey
Thrive is an incredible place. We came to them in such a vulnerable moment with our newborn. We received amazing, intentional and gracious care. They went above and beyond to check on us, stay connected for support and accommodate our schedules. They were creative about solutions and gave us thoughtful referrals taking our whole picture into consideration. I couldn't recommend a better place to receive lactation support. Going through feeding challenges with a brand new baby can be very stressful and you couldn't be in better hands than Thrive!
— Emily Ridout
I reached out to thrive when I felt hopeless about breastfeeding. Nicole is super nice, meticulous and with each visit, I felt as a step closer towards my goal. She helped with oral tie evaluation for my baby and shared many tips for breastfeeding. She is very responsive to messages and is easy to communicate with. Nicole always puts efforts to make new moms as comfortable as possible. I am glad that I found Nicole and now have a successful breastfeeding experience
— Sruthi P
Working with Nicole was nothing short of amazing! Every visit with her left me feeling like a better mom than when I arrived and she had such a balanced, supportive approach to helping with feeding goals and overall health for both me and my baby. This postpartum would have been such a different experience if it wasn’t for her and I would 100% recommend parents go see her for feeding support!
— Christina Cress
I had such a wonderful experience working with Shannon! My son went from nursing with a nipple shield on (screaming and ripping it off) to completely avoiding my breast for about 2-3 weeks and only bottle feeding and then, after only 3 visits at Thrive (hes about 2 months now) he is FINALLY an expert.
He not only breastfeeds without a nipple shield now, but he can latch on easily in any position. More importantly, it doesnt hurt ME anymore!! I honestly used to cry from the pain and truly felt like giving up.
If you've lost hope like i did in being able to breastfeed your child after they've gotten used to the bottle or given up because it hurts too bad... Im telling you, even after several weeks of me feeling defeated it actually worked. Shannon is so sweet, patient and incredibly knowledgable and im so grateful for all her help 😊
Biggest win, I can breastfeed him side lying in the middle of the night and its been a game changer.
Highly highly recommend!
— Yasmeen Kabbani
Shannon was amazing, gentle, knowledgeable, kind and patient. The most part that I loved working with her is that the advices she gave us all depends on our situation, not just as any luctation consultant from the hospital. She really thinks and cares for us and from our part. Also, she could do home visiting!
— Wonder Bobby
We worked with Nicole and could not be happier with our experience. She was kind and patient and gave us the tools to be successful in our goal of exclusively breastfeeding our 5 week old son. We first saw Nicole 1 week before delivering and she provided us with tools that became incredibly useful in the hospital and in our first few days at home. We then saw her weekly for our first few weeks at home. I truly looked forward to those appointments with each session giving me more momentum and confidence. We are so thankful we had this support as first time parents.
— Stephanie Stubler
Shannon was the first person on our *extensive* care team that looked a bit deeper and helped us solve some problems beyond nursing and lactation. She was kind, caring, and knowledgeable about all things baby (even helping with car seat questions, etc.). It felt nice to work with her, the whole way through! Thank you!!!
— Krimsey -
The most outstanding healthcare experience I have ever encountered (and this is coming from a nurse of ten years bedside experience). Shannon is so caring, thoughtful, passionate and knowledgeable. Truly an expert in her field and an angel of a human. Whereas I am normally on edge and skeptical of most healthcare providers, I felt truly seen and cared for my Shannon during the vulnerable period trying to get my baby enough to eat in her early newborn weeks. She had so much knowledge on strategies to improve my breastfeeding experience and conveyed this information in the most supportive way possible. THANK YOU THANK YOU THANK YOU! Cannot say enough good things <3
— Jerene Aldinger
I reached out to Nicole when I was feeling like I’d hit my limit with breastfeeding and couldn’t get past the pain, and talking to her was kind of like my last ditch effort before quitting. I told her that I’d already started supplementing with formula and was fine with fully doing that if this didn’t work, and while I was still hesitant to do that, I loved that she had zero judgment for that plan. She’s incredibly open-minded and is more focused on helping you reach your goals with feeding, even if it means potentially weaning off breastfeeding. Lucky for me, she was able to help immediately with improving the baby’s position while feeding and also getting a lip and tongue tie resolved, so I was able to give breastfeeding another chance and am so glad that I have the choice to continue. I’d highly recommend her to anyone looking for support or guidance on their lactation journey!
— Sudipti Garvey
I highly recommend Thrive Lactation! Nicole and her team are everything you want in your care team. The experience from start to finish is one that leaves you feeling so empowered, heard, in control and educated about every aspect of your motherhood journey. As a first time Mom who is also a healthcare practitioner, I highly recommend these practitioners. I found Nicole to be extremely knowledgeable, compassionate and able to explain a lot of information in a way that is digestible and not overwhelming. A true sign of mastery in my opinion. I am so grateful for Thrive and so happy to know there are GOOD resources available to the community and I’m grateful I have them in my corner through this big life change. Highly reccomend.
— Evernew Recovery & Rehabilitation
I could not be happier with my experience with Shannon at Thrive Lactation! I do not have the words to express how thankful I am for her help with my second baby. My first time nursing was a really unfortunate experience and I even had help from another lactation consultant and was bummed about it overall. This time around I am having such a better experience because of Shannon’s help and guidance! She is so knowledgeable, answered all my questions, and is so caring and I will recommend her to everyone I know!
— Lauren Richey
I had an amazing experience at Thrive Lactation. My breastfeeding journey started off a little rocky due to a tongue tie but Nicole and Shannon were there to help every step of the way! My child is almost a year now and is doing amazing.
— V M
I was reluctant to seek help with nursing my child because the lactation support I received in the hospital immediately after birth was subpar. I’m so glad I went to Thrive. The support and connection to other resources are the only reason I am able to nurse my child today. I never leave google reviews but I really hope this helps someone else decide to visit. This short review doesn’t capture how meaningful and monumental my experience was at Thrive!
— Laura Oskam
Thrive was incredibly helpful for me and my second baby's journey for feeding! I wish I had found them for my first baby. They are incredibly knowledgeable and make you feel comfortable asking any questions. It is a beautiful facility as well. We have had such a smoother journey after our visits with them. Couldn't recommend them enough!
— Ashley Parker
I had my 3rd baby recently and I knew this baby would have a tongue tie like my other 2 kiddos. I was able to get in right away. Nicole fit me in her schedule. She is very knowledgeable at what she does. She is also very friendly and warm and makes you feel very comfortable when you are with her. She is also very observant of you and your baby and gives you the best tips on how to successfully breastfeed your baby. I reccomend thrive to anyone who plans on breastfeeding. Nicole and Shannon are amazing and the facility is super cute and clean!
— Tot Vichathep
I just saw Nicole for a newborn consult and she made some easy recommendations for breastfeeding positioning and technique - the last couple of nights my newborn has been eating and sleeping so much better, which means my partner and I have been able to get some rest and reduce our stress level! I am so thankful for her help and expertise!
— Karyn Schultz
Our experience with Shannon was amazing and I would recommend her to any mom! I’m so glad we met with her as part of our breastfeeding journey!
— Sarah Ramesh
Nicole at Thrive is absolutely amazing and transformed my experience with breastfeeding. I would not have been able to achieve my breastfeeding goals without her. I highly recommend Thrive. 10 out of 10!
— Chelsea Polk
I cannot say enough positive things about Thrive! With my first baby I had a very difficult breastfeeding experience that severely impacted my mental health. When we got pregnant with our second, I knew I wanted to try something different. I worked with Shannon prior to our second baby being born, as well as the first few weeks after. I have had an amazing experience breastfeeding this time around, and felt so supported and cared for by Shannon throughout it all. I will recommend them to everyone!
— Lauren Neely
I can’t say enough positive words about my experience with Shannon at Thrive. This is my second child with a tongue tie, with my first I was never able to breast feed because it was terribly painful. I sought out help through Thrive for my second, thinking it still might not be possible to breastfeed. I thought it wouldn’t work, but Shannon was so positive and made me feel so much better, ALWAYS being available whenever I was feeling down and never giving up on me. Shannon did the impossible, she got me breastfeeding! I STRONGLY suggest if you have any feeding issues to go to Thrive. You won’t regret it!
— Laura Blasquez
Coming to Thrive was one of the best decisions we made. The vibe of this place is great, very clean and cozy, makes you feel relaxed the minute you walk in. Nicole was extremely helpful throughout our journey from bottle feed > try to breastfeed > wanted to give up on breastfeeding overall > breast feeding on one side > giving up the idea to breast feed on both sides > successfully able to breast feed in both sides > exclusively breastfeeding!
Every visit was a huge step forward. Besides the help received on lactation, Nicole helped answered other NB related questions and provided helpful suggestions. Recommend anyone seeking lactation support to come to Thrive.
— Bettina Hsing
After reading all the amazing reviews I decided that I'll go to Thrive for help and I'm so glad that I did.
I went there 3 times and was lucky to have Nicole as my IBCLC.
Nicole is very welcoming and the vibe of the whole place is relaxing. She provided great feedback and helpful tips that definitely made my breastfeeding journey more comfortable after the first visit.
I feel like her approach was tailored to my baby and I so it was easy to take the information home and start working with it right away.
I was dealing with a drop in supply and I definitely noticed an improvement after applying the tips she gave me.
I live in Kent so the drive to Issaquah is looong but it was worth it. Highly recommend.
— Hebatallah Ashraf Fathelbab
After many frustrating lactation appointments with my provider, I went to Thrive Lactation for help with my baby’s latch. He wouldn’t stay on the breast for more than a few minutes and would pull off and cry. But as the story goes, he was gaining weight and getting plenty of milk. I did a weighted feed with Thrive, and they discovered that he had a posterior tongue tie. I saw an ENT in my network, and sadly they don’t believe in posterior tongue ties. I ended up going private for a frenectomy and now he is nursing great! Without Thrive Lactation Consultants I likely would have given up on breastfeeding my baby, thank you so much!
— Nikki Dziedzic
Shannon is an exceptional lactation consultant with unparalleled expertise and unwavering dedication. I’m a C section new mother, hard to move in the first month after surgery. Every time when I had problem related to breastfeeding, such as latch issues, milk supply concerns, and general breastfeeding obstacles, she would come to my house in one day, and always solved my problem perfectly, fostering an atmosphere of trust and comfort. Even when I traveled out States, I can still reach out to her when I have concerns and she is so patient and caring. I would like to recommend Shannon to all new mothers, she is the best! On behalf of my friend Louise Yu.
— Sherry Li
I can’t recommend Shannon and the team at Thrive enough! I saw three lactation consultants before I finally was referred to Thrive Lactation. Shannon immediately noticed my son had a tongue and lip tie and gave us a great recommendation to get it revised. After the revision, we continued with lactation appointments and it has been a night and day difference. We went from nursing sessions taking 1 hour down to 20 minutes. If you are looking for help and guidance throughout your breastfeeding journey, definitely check out Thrive! You won’t regret it!
— Sydney Donnelly
Nicole is amazing! I reached out for help at 5 weeks postpartum needing a therapeutic breast ultrasound and she was able to start working with me later that day. Two rounds of the ultrasound removed the two plugged ducts and combatted the inflammation that had been bothering my left breast. I’m so grateful for Nicole’s support during my breastfeeding journey. The relief from the pain I now feel is incredible and makes me want to continue breastfeeding. Highly recommend!
— Elizabeth Fairagan
My in home lactation consultant referred me to Thrive when I was suffering from incredibly stubborn clogs and mastitis.
Nicole was so quick to respond to my inquiries and got me in quickly to help address my pain. Going into my visit I was scared and in intense pain, Nicole was gentle and helped me feel at ease emotionally and mentally. After a couple treatments, my clogs were gone and I felt dramatic relief. During my treatments, Nicole answered every question I had no matter how small or silly and I feel so much more educated about my pumping and breastfeeding journey.
I can't recommend Thrive enough and wish I had gone in sooner.
— Jessica Kelly
Mama and baby yoga was exactly what my postpartum journey had been missing. Ella Frances Yoga delivers an opportunity to bond with my baby in a whole new way. I loved practicing yoga with other mamas and their little ones. 10/10 recommend to any new parent.
— Jessica Youmans
Beautiful space and extremely welcoming staff. Shannon and Nicole are very professional and I learned a lot of great tips and tricks for feeding my little one.
— Adrianna Silva
I had an incredibly distressing clogged duct before visiting this lactation clinic, causing me to cease breastfeeding my baby for several days. The pain was so intense that it affected my sleep. However, everything turned around after my first visit. Nicole and Shannon provided invaluable guidance on correct lactation positions, and the ultrasound treatment proved highly beneficial. By my second visit, my condition had improved significantly, and I could resume breastfeeding my baby. I cannot express my gratitude enough for the remarkable care and support I received. Thank you immensely!!
— Yang Su
They got me in so fast and helped me and my little one figure out our painful latch. Couldn’t recommend enough. They really care and are so personal.
— Krystan Rosser
We went here after our daughter had the tongue-tie surgery. Shannon is sooo helpful and patient to guide us all the positions of latching, also how to massage the baby’s tongue. I feel there’s always an improvement after seeing her each time. Definitely recommend to every family who needs help!!! Shannon will always be my first choice if I need more support in the future!
— Camilla Wu
Shannon has been an instrumental part of my breastfeeding journey. From the first few days postpartum to support in my transition back to work she has been beyond supportive. As a first time mom she also helped normalize a lot of just general mom questions I had. I am so grateful Thrive exists, don’t even hesitate when considering reaching out to them for help in your journey!
— ashley McGinnis
I can’t say enough positive things and Shannon and Thrive. If I could give them 10 stars I would! I suddenly experienced drastic issues with breastfeeding at 6 months, and thought my journey was coming to an end. Shannon not only helped me be able to continue my journey, but was such a kind, compassionate shoulder to lean on and provided so much support. I cannot recommend Thrive enough!
— Amanda Rosling
Highly recommend if you have any issues related to breastfeeding. Shannon helped a lot to build up my confidence regarding breastfeeding and provided a lot of useful techniques. She is so nice and gentle, and professional.
— Yuancheng Shao
Shannon and Nicole at Thrive are both amazing. I have seen my share of LCs between my two babies and they are - hands down - the best I've seen. They take their time, are so detail-oriented, are great listeners, didn't make me feel crazy for my mom-anxiety, and genuinely are just the warmest people ever. I live in Seattle and take the 30+ minute drive to Issaquah to see them because they are that worth it!
— julia anderson
It was important for me to establish a good relationship breastfeeding with my second baby, I ran into some challenges with my first born. Shannon was so lovely to work with! She is kind, knowledgeable and so approachable. I feel like her guidance has helped me have a better and more enjoyable relationship with breastfeeding. I highly recommend Shannon, and all the services at Thrive. Postpartum is such a challenging time for mothers, and I feel fortunate to have found Thrive to help support me and our growing family.
— Kayla Cook
It has been such a pleasure working with Thrive Wellness, specifically Nicole. She has truly been a game changer to my breastfeeding journey with my son and can say without her guidance and support, we would not be as successful as we are. She is incredibly knowledgable in the space and truly listenings to your goals and concerns. It's been such a pleasure working with her and I continue to look forward to working with her in the future as we navigate new milestones. Can't recommend her and Thrive Wellness enough.
— Danielle Hopkins
The first month of breastfeeding was more difficult than I could have ever imagined. My little one dealt with jaundice that required intervention, as well as too much weight loss after birth. He was latching well, but not pulling any milk. From the get-go, providers told me to triple feed (breastfeed/pump/supplement) in order to have him gain weight appropriately and maintain my supply, but I was given no support beyond this recommendation. Triple feeding as a first time mom felt extremely difficult and unsustainable, both emotionalIy and physically. I went to a different lactation consultant through my insurance, and while well-meaning, they gave me little solutions.
But then I researched and found Thrive! I’m so grateful I reached out this business. Shannon at Thrive was immediately able to recognize the core issue of our milk transfer problem (a tongue-tie) and give me a list of providers that could help. We ended up choosing Dr.Ghormley (who was amazing!). Once the tongue tie was resolved, we immediately saw improvement in my little one’s ability to feed. Shannon brought empathy, kindness, and knowledge to a situation that I felt defeated in. Working with her helped me feel supported and empowered in my breastfeeding journey. I would 100% recommend if you are having any difficulties.
— Tara Lange
A perfect experience. Was thankfully referred to Thrive from another medical professional. Shannon went above and beyond to work with me and my baby. After only 2 sessions, feeding has become something I look forward to. Not once did I feel rushed during our appointments. Everything from the welcoming environment, open communication, knowledgeable tips and encouragement makes me wish I could give more than 5 stars. I happily drove an hour both ways if that tells you something! Thank you.
— Kyla Rose Rocchi
Shannon was so amazing to work with right from the start! She was quick to reply to my request as well as get me in for an initial consult. You can tell she is passionate about her career and cares about both mom & baby. I had all my questions answered and any concerns addressed at my appointment. It was so reassuring to work with her & I can’t recommend thrive lactation enough! The new location has a clean and professional boutique atmosphere. Much better than a hospital. Absolutely worth it
— Jenna Blackmore
Went for a prenatal consultation and Nicole was so patient with us. She answered all our questions and went above and beyond to make sure that we feel empowered as we start this journey. Highly recommend !
— Swaathee R
Shannon at Thrive is amazing. We were referred there after a lip and tongue tie release procedure, which left us basically back at breastfeeding basics with my 3.5 month old son having to relearn how to latch - I had previously needed to use a nipple shield but with the procedure my son was now able to nurse without it. During my initial consult, my son was not cooperating and was uncomfortable just a few days post procedure. Shannon was so patient and was not deterred. In the end, we were able to get a good feed in and she gave us some great tips for additional oral exercises to do at home. We saw her a few weeks later for a follow up and she again was so great with my son and gave us some new, simple pointers on how to make breastfeeding more comfortable for me. I highly recommend her and will be back in the future if I ever need more support.
— Jennifer Cooper
Shannon is amazing! We were referred to thrive Lacation from Dr. Thomas at health latch after having a tongue and lip tie revision. Shannon has been so helpful and kind and she also did the check up for my baby to see if everything was healing properly post tie revision. We have two Lacation appointments, and I’m also going back for a weight check just for piece of mind. Highly recommend!!
— sameera villaluz
Shannon with Thrive Lactation Counseling is very knowledgeable, helpful, friendly and professional.
She evaluated my baby’s latch, provided useful breastfeeding and pumping tips and performed both a tongue tie assessment and a feeding weight check. She made me feel at ease with her supportive and non-judgemental demeanor regarding my decision to combination feed.
I highly recommend Shannon and Thrive for all lactation support needs.
— Schyler Bearman
Nicole helped me out tremendously after I had been struggling for a couple days! I’m a first time mom with a baby who was struggling to latch. I felt defeated and like I was doing everything wrong, but she helped me gain confidence in feeding and making sure I was doing the right thing for my baby boy.
— Madison Russell
I reached out to Thrive last minute and Nicole came to my rescue. My young nephew and his girlfriend had just had a baby at a hospital in UT. They were struggling with breast feeding and the hospital wasn’t supportive. Nicole called them and set up a virtual visit within in an hour of me reaching out. After that one online session my nephew reported that babe was successfully nursing. They were amazed at the knowledge, support, and kindness that Nicole provided. I can’t say enough about Nicole and Thrive Lactation. They are hands down the best.
— Misty Berry
My husband and I have been very pleased with our consultations with Shannon at Thrive Lactation. Shannon greatly helped us in our lactation journey as first time parents. Both times after meeting with her, we felt confident about our next steps toward successful breastfeeding following our baby’s frenectomy. After the surgery, our baby had latching difficulties that caused pain for mom during feeds, so Shannon helped coach us in proper latching techniques. She also gave us lots of information and advice around milk supply, supplementing with a bottle, pumping, hand expressing, and using nipple shields.
Shannon is very compassionate and thorough and takes a great deal of care during consultations. She has made these first few weeks much easier and increased our confidence in our approach to lactation. It has been great to have Shannon on our team of healthcare professionals for our little one and as my husband put it “she’s truly in your corner.”
— Clarisse Reynoso-Mazoy
Shannon was amazing! She got us in really last minute and took her time with us- showing us new nursing positions and helped with our babies latch. She was so friendly and encouraging. Definitely would recommend!
— Jeanne Suggs
I am an IBCLC myself and have personally worked very closely with both Nicole and Shannon. Not only are they caring, wonderful people, but the care they provide to families is outstanding! I highly recommend their lactation services. Thank you for all you do for our community!
— Katie Rhodes
Thrive is so caring and helpful! I received the best advice and insight for my second baby that I wish I'd had for the first! There is so much breastfeeding prep you can do before the baby comes that I had no idea about. Shannon is amazing and cares so much about helping you through those first few months and beyond!
— Lauren Fior McCaffrey
Shannon at Thrive Lactation was calm, friendly, and so helpful. Being a brand new mom, sleep deprived and desperate to feed my son, Shannon brought the knowledge and comfort I was seeking. Thrive truly builds a community of support and helped me feel less alone. Thank you Thrive! Thank you Shannon!
— Karen Leann Kirsch
Thrive has been a huge help to me in the first few weeks of breastfeeding! They were very responsive when I reached out and had multiple in home or clinic options for me to do appts with them. Nicole and Shannon are very knowledgeable and an incredible support system to navigate all the difficult scenarios we encountered breastfeeding. I highly recommend them to anyone who needs some help at any point in their breastfeeding journey!
— Hannah Stejskal
Shannon made me feel extremely comfortable and took in the whole situation of our 3 week old not breastfeeding. She was able to request a tongue tie re assessment with a local specialist, which ended up being the solution for our kiddo, when 4 others had not pinpointed this. She did not stress breast is best but took a holistic approach, which I greatly appreciated as I came in stressed out and under producing milk because of the situation. Thrive Lactation is quick to respond and attentive to follow ups and resources.
— Stacey Field
Shannon and the Thrive team are amazing! They gave me the gifts of confidence, peace of mind and, bonding with my newborn. As the mother of three boys, I was disappointed, confused, and helpless when my little guy wasn’t gaining weight. I’m so glad I found Thrive because they were able to quickly meet me where I was at, listen to my concerns, and provide open minded suggestions for how to meet my breastfeeding goals. Whether you are a new mother or a seasoned pro, I highly recommend Thrive for proven tips and compassion to fill those early days with the joy of a healthy baby and happy mama!
— Jessica Rafuse
