About Nina

I am a trained birth + postpartum doula. I am also a lactation counselor and health educator originally from NJ, via NYC! I am new to the Rochester Area—I've been primarily a lactation counselor and postpartum doula since 2020, and first got trained with Ancient Song Doula Services in 2018. I attended my first birth in 2018 after 3+ years of health education. My family is from the Dominican Republic, I am fluent in Spanish, and conversational in French after 14 years of studying and understand Brazilian Portuguese a fair amount! I have dedicated my life to birth education and doula work, and hope to one day be a nurse midwife. I have a public health degree, a food handlers license and am about to renew my liability insurance which covers all but home births. I am LGBT competent and have assisted primarily single parents both by choice and by circumstance. I hope to end the birth parent mortality crisis in my lifetime and am so proud to be a doula! I am accepting postpartum and education clients only between now (May 2025) and October 1 2025!

Postpartum Education Package

1 hour of what to expect in your fourth trimester aka your first 12 weeks of newborn parenting. **This can be done virtually via zoom** This includes— -Basic birth education overview -Colostrum and realistic lactation/feeding expectations -What the first 12 weeks of your body will feel like/look like (on average) -Baby's first 12 weeks including feedings and typical scheduling -15 min Q+A

Basic Postpartum Doula Package (Daytime Only)

7 hours minimum per work day! 1 pre-natal home visit and document signing 3 days between 7am and 7pm at 7-12 hours each for postpartum care including: -Infant care and feeding scheduling -Creating a set feed/wake schedule by day 3 -If breastfeeding via pumping: creating a pumping schedule and pump part sanitation schedule -If breastfeeding without pumping: reviewing the baby stomach chart and how to ensure your baby is latched correctly -Postpartum home hygiene (light cleaning, sanitizing, baby laundry) -Empathetic and nurturing 1:1 support from me!

$25 USD · Per hour

Postpartum Basic (Overnight Only!)

7 hours minimum per night 1 pre-natal home visit and document signing 3 days between 7pm and 7am at 7-12 hours each for postpartum care including: -Infant care and feeding scheduling -Creating a set feed/wake schedule by night 3 -If breastfeeding via pumping: creating a pumping schedule and pump part sanitation schedule -If breastfeeding without pumping: reviewing the baby stomach chart and how to ensure your baby is latched correctly -Postpartum home hygiene (light cleaning, sanitizing, baby laundry) -Extra emphasis on parent's sleep/eat schedule on nights: that's why I'm there! -and as always, empathetic and nurturing 1:1 support from me!

What to expect

I offer daytime and overnight postpartum support including lactation counseling, light cleaning and sanitizing of baby clothes, bottles and surfaces. I provide 1:1 support with my clients and address each unique need from a human centered approach: you are your best advocate and everyone has different needs. I am extremely flexible and offer birth, lactation, and postpartum education as well!

Frequently asked questions

What do you do when I get to sleep?

I party with your newborn! (just kidding) I log down every wet/soiled diaper and feed time during the night, change diapers, and comfort and cuddle baby until I can put your angel to sleep! After that I tend to clean and quietly sanitize, especially if it's night time. If you have enough baby laundry I tend to do that as well and tidy up. A dirty bottle hates to see me coming!

Do you attend births as well?

Yes and no! My last birth was March 10th 2020 in a NYC hospital that has the first COVID patient on the east coast—if you're ready for me to be a little rusty I am going to discount you heavily, however I had switched to postpartum due to the pandemic and never got to go back to hospital births! You are free to ask me questions anytime and you are in safe hands with me always.

Do you offer discounts or sliding scale!

Yes, almost exclusively! Since moving to Rochester, I've lowered my rates, however if you are unable to afford it or need reduced or even free education or post partum services—do not hesitate to reach out.
