3rd baby and planning a home birth for the first time. Previous 2 children were birthed at a hospital with an epidural, but I really want to try it naturally this time. Preferably with a birthing tub! I also live in West Chicago, IL 60185 but this keeps changing it to Northwoods.

We would like to do a homebirth but are open to whatever is best for the baby. We’d like to spend no more than 5000.

I’m hoping to find someone that allows me to move at my own pace, when possible, and keeps me informed of options available to me. Im trying to help my wife find a doula to help us through our first pregnancy. As of now we are unsure if she is wanting to go unmedicated for the delivery so we would need someone able to walk us through those decisions. She prefers that I (the husband) be the one to read all the books and stuff so I would need someone that is willing to work with me on these things so I can support her as best I can. We are thinking of an in hospital birth, due around May 4th. My insurance does cover a doula/ midwife so it might help if you can take insurance but I would be willing to pay out of pocket for the right person. We would also prefer an in person doula/midwife to help us in the delivery room.
