Hi! We are in Orefield Pa (near Fogelsville). We are due May 24th with our 3rd baby. We have a 4 and 2 year old boy. We are looking for what I suppose is called a “sibling doula” that could provide care for our boys on an on-call basis when my wife goes into labor. We have family coming up from Maryland to watch them but it will of course take some time between when my wife goes to the hospital to when they can arrive. Is this a service you can provide? Note: I am vegetarian. ​Bonding: I want to prioritize skin-to-skin time. Lactation Support: Help with latching, positioning, and recognizing baby’s hunger cues. Demonstrations: I’d like to be shown (rather than just told) how to do the first bath, umbilical cord care, and safe swaddling. ​Sleep Hygiene: Help us implement a safe sleep environment and understand newborn sleep cycles. ​Baby Soothing: Teach us "the 5 S’s" or other techniques for calming a crying infant. Visitor Policy: If visitors are present, the doula’s role is to ensure I am being cared for. If I look tired, the doula has permission to kindly wrap up the visit.

Hello, I am looking for a labor support Doula for the birth of my first child in Late June/early July. I have not yet decided whether I will have a home birth, or of give birth at Naval Medical Center. I am planning to have a natural, unmediated birth and know I will need physical and emotional support through it.

I plan on giving birth in a hospital non-medicated. I will not be giving birth on my back.

I would do it in the hospital but I don’t want it to feel like I’m in the hospital, I don’t want the staff bombarding me and intervening every 5 seconds. I want to do it naturally, in better positions than what the hospital wants me to do… I’m not positive about all of the rest but I just want someone that’s going to vouch for me while I’m vulnerable and I fear my husband is too nice and they will walk all over him… I’m not even sure about an estimated budget but I do know I would need someone who takes tricare to help with the cost!

I plan to give birth at Sentera Norfolk General Hospital. I live in Yorktown, VA so may go to the closest hospital if I go into early active labor. My husband and I are federal workers and are being affected by the government shutdown. I am still figuring out a birth plan. This will be my first birth.
