I was drawn to becoming a birth doula when I learned the maternal mortality rate for black women. I knew I wanted to do something about this and the first step I chose is becoming an advocate...a birth doula. I bring 1 year of heartfelt service to my role as your birth doula. I am trained through DONA International and have attended numerous births. My experience has taught me how to effectively support moms so they can truly enjoy this special chapter.

Ashley is an International Board-Certified Lactation Consultant (IBCLC) and postpartum doula in the OKC metro area. Through her life experience she has developed a deep passion for supporting families during their postpartum journey. She values the importance of a village in helping them thrive and meet their feeding goals. She has a range of lactation experience from mother-baby units, NICU, outpatient clinic, in home visits and support groups. ​ Ashley is also a co-leader for the Postpartum Support International (PSI) Climb Out of the Darkness yearly event. In her free time, she enjoys being with her family, going outside, reading, exploring OKC coffee shops, and practicing yoga. ​ Ashley continues to educate herself on infant/parental healthcare and well-being by earning continuing education in oral restrictions, food allergies, pediatric sleep, CPR/BLS, postpartum healing and maternal mental health. Her mission is to help her families have an educated, supported, holistic experience through the first few weeks after birth and beyond. Her goal for families is to have an uplifting transition into parenthood rooted in supporting their instinct, building confidence and a village.

I have been a birth doula in the OKC metro area since November of 2016 and Certified Lactation Counselor since 2021. My passion for all things pregnancy, birth, and postpartum began during my own journey into motherhood. The more I prepared for my birth, the bigger my passion grew. My birth stories completely transform the way I saw myself and showed up as a mother. I now find great joy in walking with other families through their own transformation stories as they grow their families.

I have given birth vaginally with an epidural, without an epidural, and my 5th kid decided he wasn’t coming out after he broke my water at 33 weeks & I had to have a random emergency C section to a super preemie baby. So I’m personally experienced in child birth, & have chosen to help other women because I felt alone, I didn’t understand at times. Hello! My name is Heidi and I'm a birth/postpartum doula! I'm a Christian, wife and mama to four! I believe there is no right way to have a baby. I have personally experienced an induction with epidural, two unmedicated births and a C-section. Merin (Amy) Varughese is 36 years old, married to her best friend of 13 years and has two precious boys who are 8 and 6. Amy is an Occupational Therapist Assistant and has been working in the hospital setting for 14 years. Amy also has her Bachelor’s in Psychology. Amy’s journey to becoming a doula was because of her own story through miscarriage, postpartum depression and depression and anxiety. Amy started a mom’s ministry where she makes care packages for moms and does different types of events for moms. Amy finds her joy and healing by loving on other moms from all walks of life. Amy is always happy to share her story so that more moms know they are not alone. Amy believes her faith and pain has led her to find her purpose as a doula. Some of the services Amy offers are meal prep/light chores, sibling transition and more. Amy wants to provide emotional, physical and informational support to help her clients thrive. As Amy’s client she will be there through and available through text, phone calls and even after that. Amy has a saying she says to every mom she loves on. Her message is, “You are seen, you are loved, you are chosen, you are valuable and what you do matters.”

Hi! I’m a NICU nurse at Oklahoma Children’s Hospital, where I’ve spent the past two years caring for some of the sweetest and most delicate little ones. I graduated from the University of Oklahoma’s nursing program, and before that, I worked as a nanny for newborns and children up to 10 years old. Caring for babies and supporting new parents is truly my passion. I know how overwhelming those first days and nights can feel, and my goal is to help make the transition smoother—whether that’s caring for your newborn, offering guidance, or simply helping you feel more confident and at ease in your own home.
