Update Feb 2025: I have now used Olga for two births and actually chose doctors and hospitals (which I switched in between) based on where she would be able to join me because of how important she was to my birth experience and having it go the way I wanted and feeling empowered. Not only is she amazing but everyone she works with and recommends is an asset to the motherhood journey. Original 2022: I'm so glad we found Olga to be part of my motherhood journey. I was only a couple weeks from delivering and she made herself available over zoom and in person, proactively sent recommendations, researched what my doctors were saying to offer more insight and support to us, and prepared us for the delivery itself. She has a great intuition for when to lean in hands-on and when to lean back and just support, and I needed both in the delivery room. I had a great experience with this provider. As a breastfeeding mom, I was always tentative to hire a night nurse. I felt comfortable with the philosophy of the postpartum doulas I had that they would not push me to give the baby a bottle and instead would be of great help while also waking me up to nurse my baby. Alejandra and Carlota were very helpful to me in the early postpartum nights - waking me up when nursing was necessary and then taking care of the diaper change, burping, and rocking back to sleep. This way I was able to greatly increase my rest on the nights they were with me. The company is also very professionally run and I always got super fast responses from Olga. That is a rarity in Miami. I also appreciated the booking flexibility, that we could book just a couple days rather than a huge package. I would hire them again.

I am new to the US and unfamiliar with the healthcare system here. Being a health care worker myself in Canada, I wanted to be prepared and have the ability to advocate for myself especially in complicated unknown situations where my voice may be compromised. I did an added prenatal class and one of the doulas came to my house to teach. The actual value came from the birth experience. I had a long labor -31 hours from start to finish and my doula team supported me through it all. From helping me create my birth plan, to setting up lights, cards of affirmation, and music in my room. Even the nurses wanted to hang out there. My two doulas were Cansu and Carlotta. Cansu started first and Carlotta traded halfway. Both were fantastic supports. Cansu was amazing for helping me get into different positions and providing me with laboring tips to ease the pain. Nadine, Alejandra and Allison patiently guided me through the challenges of breastfeeding and helped set me and baby up for success . Alejandra helped us develop good foundation and routine for our baby’s sleep and now our baby has been able to sleep through the night. However my mom had a stroke in the previous year and is working on recovering so she was unable. I wanted a doula for my first pregnancy and opted out and regretted it! I knew getting pregnant again that a doula was a must! I interviewed many doulas and MotheRetreat had many options. Olga is truly gifted at what she does. From the initial consultation to her final postpartum visit she always provided me with so much helpful information and guidance. She helped me develop a birth plan I was comfortable with, she found me other qualified specialists when complications arose during my pregnancy, she advocated for me at the hospital when I was exhausted and in pain, she helped my partner to better understand how to support me, she helped me have the labor and birth experience I envisioned, and she checked on me after I came home to make sure we were all adjusting. At 35 weeks when we found out my baby was transverse, I panicked, but Olga sprang into action. She immediately came over to my home and taught me exercises to do to help turn the baby. She got me in touch with a chiropractor and acupuncturist and followed up with me to make sure I was mentally staying strong. At my next appointment when we found out the baby was breach I immediately called Olga and again she coached me through more exercises to do and helped me maintain a positive mindset. At my final appointment the baby had turned head down and I was able to have a vaginal delivery. Without Olga’s guidance I don’t know if that would have happened and I am forever grateful. If you are considering a doula you do not need to look any further - Olga is an expert at what she does.
