Hi! I’m currently pregnant and looking for a birth doula to support me throughout my pregnancy and labor. I’m hoping for a VBAC after a previous C-section (in Sept. 2023), so I’m specifically looking for someone who has experience supporting VBAC/TOLAC births. I have the ILWU-PMA Coastwise Indemnity Plan with Blue Shield of California PPO insurance, and I’m hoping to have my doula services covered or reimbursed through my insurance. Do you accept Blue Shield of California PPO, or are you able to provide a superbill/NPI for out-of-network reimbursement? I am looking for a birth and postpartum doula that is covered by Kaiser insurance, who is very knowledgeable about the birth process, potential complications and newborn care, who is open to attending hospitals births. I am planning to give birth at Kaiser South Bay Harbor City. I would like to labor at home with my partner and the doula for as long as possible until it’s time to go to the hospital. I am open to an epidural at the hospital but if I’m doing okay or labor is progressing quickly I am open to not getting one. I hope for an uncomplicated vaginal birth. I’d like the doula to know the difference between interventions that might be offered to me at the hospital that are not necessary and what is necessary/ will help my baby to be born healthy. I’d like a certified doula with multiple years experience, age 38+ or older. I am 38 years old, first pregnancy, have a very supportive partner, and hope to breastfeed.

I plan on birthing in San Antonio Regional Hospital in Upland CA. I would like to have as least medical interventions as possible however while still in a hospital setting in case it is medically necessary to intervene. I would like to have a doula for supporting my husband and I in preparation for this to be possible as well as postpartum support to help me get settled in as a new mother healing from birthing. Birth Location: I plan to give birth at a Kaiser Permanente hospital in Sunset Blvd. in Los Angeles. Estimated Budget: I am looking for a doula whose services are fully covered by my Kaiser insurance plan who also has TIN and NPI. Birth Plan: I intend to utilize standard labor and delivery care at a Kaiser facility, coordinating with my medical team and my doula for a supported birth experience.Provider Requirements: The provider must be a Tagalog-speaking doula with some experience, and they must be officially contracted with Kaiser Permanente to ensure my insurance covers the cost. There are no specific certification level or years of experience requirements.Care Recipients: Care will be focused on myself and my newborn baby, arriving around my estimated due date of December 7, 2026.Additional Duties: No additional duties are required (such as sleep training, cleaning, cooking, or laundry). The focus is entirely on standard birth and immediate postpartum doula support.

I want as natural birth as possible in the sense that I only want medical intervention if it is absolutely necessary (no induction, no episiotomy etc). I am going in expecting to need an epidural but am also open to the idea of being unmedicated. I am looking for someone to assist with pain management and advocacy while in labor and for education in early/postpartum care for my baby (tips/tricks/lactation/mama stomach wrapping). I would like someone with no less than 3 years of experience and is possibly able to assist with postpartum care at home.
