Certification is a plus, but hands-on experience with newborn care is the most important requirement. Experience helping families transition when a new baby arrives would be very helpful. The primary care recipient will be a newborn, and I also have a toddler at home. Supporting my toddler as he adjusts to having a new sibling will be an important part of the role. The provider should be comfortable working with both age groups and understanding their different needs. Additional duties may include assisting with newborn feeding routines, soothing and settling the baby, and helping create a calm and supportive environment for both children. Light help related to the children, such as tidying up after meals or activities, may be appreciated. My estimated budget is flexible and will depend on the provider’s experience and qualifications.
