Hello, I am a 26 year old mom about to give birth to my second baby. I attempted breastfeeding with my first baby and ultimately had lactation failure. Not a “low supply” but a nearly “no supply” after doing what I was told were all the right things. I’m trying to learn if with some lifestyle and/or technique changes, it would even be a possibility. I’ve done my best to prepare during this pregnancy, but I need help as to the best course of action postpartum. I’m currently 40 weeks and 3 days. Would greatly appreciate some help! I’m looking for help with breastfeeding my 5 week old. We need help with proper latching and positioning as my son does have a tongue tie. We’ve also be experiencing breast refusal since we have been primarily bottle feeding recently, but I’m hoping to return to primarily nursing. I’m also looking for help to increase milk supply. I had a pretty bad experience with my first where my wishes and concerns were completely ignored. I really wish I had someone there to advocate for me when I couldn’t think clearly, my nurse was very evil person and caused a lot of pain and negativity while I was in labor. I get back labor, and the pain is so unbearable I’d really need someone to help me cope and push through! I’d also love a doula who is very informative on certain things hospitals tend to force mothers into. Would love if my doula were seasoned with At least 4 years of experience. I had a very hard time with postpartum recovery which I believe hindered me from being able to breastfeed since I was under so much stress. I would really love to breastfeed this time around.

I am completely struggling with breastfeeding my baby boy and I intended on just exclusively that instead of formula. The problem is latching on for comfortably. Another is lack of sleep due to confusion of days and eats during sleeping. Also having trouble with reflux while intended on laying him down although after being birth and set up for 15-30 minutes.

Lactation consultant to help resume breast feeding. Baby did great in the hospital at latching but my milk didn’t come in until after I got home and she would refuse breast so I gave her bottles. I’ve been pumping and have a great supply but the mental load of being hooked up to a pump is draining me. I do work 45 hours a week so I only feed baby at night time. Would like to see if I could start breastfeeding at home. Would need to be covered through insurance, United healthcare and Iowa total care. Could also help with sleep, baby still wakes up every 3 hours at night and I’m exausted.
