Find Birth Doula Jobs Near Pasadena, CA

Hi, I’m 29 weeks pregnant with our first baby (boy). We plan to give birth at a hospital (Huntington) since we live nearby in Pasadena. Our estimated budget is $1,500 to $2,500. I would love to have a vaginal birth (most likely epidural since I don’t have a high pain tolerance). I would love to find a doula who is empathetic, compassionate and knowledgeable who will be there for me and my husband pre/during labor for emotional support and guidance.

I plan to give birth at the USC Keck Hospital in Arcadia, CA. I am seeking a doula because I find that the appointments with my OB are very short and most of the time, I’m unable to ask all of the questions I want to ask (simply because I only remember the questions once I’ve left the office and am in the parking lot!) I really like my OB, so want to keep her, but think having someone to support me in preparing for and actual childbirth would be very helpful. I don’t necessarily have a birth plan ready, and hope that a doula could assist me in that. I don’t plan on having a natural childbirth but am open to suggestions. I am unsure of what a doula costs, so I am hoping to get more answers here in terms of what fits with our budget. Thank you!
