Sam will take off one week to ten days for paternity leave and then another week or so later in the year. We have a two year old son (Hugo) who will be in school from 8:30 to 1:30 Monday through Friday. I would like to speak with you about our specific needs, but I think it would be something like three days for five hours in the first week I’m home from the hospital, five days for five hours the next week, and then maybe two or three days for four hours the week after that. I plan to give birth in a hospital. My budget for a doula is 2k. My birth plan would be to labor at home for a while and then drive to Manchester memorial hospital to give birth because I believe they are the most vba2c supportive in Connecticut with the midwives affiliated there.

This is our first baby and we are very excited to welcome her to the world. I plan on giving birth in a hospital. I want to go as natural as possible and it’s very important to me that the doctors respect that. I need someone to advocate for me when I can’t do so myself. I want to labor at home as long as possible and avoid pitocin and an epidural. I also do not want to give my baby the hep B vaccine and I do not want to give them the erythromycin eye ointment. I want to delay cord clamping and have at least one hour of skin-to-skin contact directly after birth :)
