Hi! I’m Rachael, a birth and postpartum doula and the heart behind ShenanDoula. As a mom of 2, I know how vulnerable and powerful birth can be, and I’m here to make sure you never feel alone in it. My goal is simple: to help you feel calm, informed, and supported so you can step into your parenthood with confidence and trust in yourself. In my free time, I enjoy baking, reading, and spending time with family.

Birth Doula Support

Includes:
2 prenatal visits to prepare for birth and discuss preferences
Unlimited text support after contract signing
On-call support beginning at 38 weeks
Continuous labor support (home, hospital, or birth center)
Up to 2 hours immediate postpartum support
1 postpartum visit within 4 weeks

$1,000 USD · Flat rate

Postpartum Doula Support

In-home support including:
Newborn care support
Parent emotional support
Light housekeeping
Simple meal prep
Practical postpartum guidance
Discounted package rates available
Daylight hours only

$35 USD · Per hour

Virtual Doula Support

Ideal for families outside my service area or seeking affordable support
Includes:
2 virtual prenatal visits
Unlimited text support
Continuous virtual labor support
1 virtual postpartum visit

$650 USD · Flat rate

What to expect

I provide calm, compassionate birth and postpartum support for families in the Shenandoah Valley and beyond through in person and virtual services. My goal is to help parents feel informed, supported, and cared for through pregnancy, labor, birth, and early postpartum. Whether planning a hospital, home, or birth center birth, I support ALL births while mothering the mother every step of the way.

One of the things I hoped for in a doula is that she would not only be knowledgeable in labor but that she would be a friend to trust and lean on when things felt intense. Rachael was everything I hoped for in a doula and more. She is extremely knowledgeable and gave great advice and offered excellent suggestions throughout early labor and active labor. She bonds well with her clients and she becomes a trusted friend which is so important to helping you stay calm and present through birth.
