About me

I believe that without experiencing the full range of human emotions, we do not fully engage in our lives. Therefore, you can expect me to validate your experience, yet also challenge you to allow in all thoughts and feelings, rather than spending your time and energy trying to "get rid" of the painful stuff. Rather, let's see if we can work with it to allow it to be there AND at the same time, not allow it to hold you back from doing your best and being your best. I provide a quiet, safe space in which to explore patterns of responses to discomfort and find new, more productive and life-enhancing responses to that very same discomfort. I consistently push myself as well, to learn about new evidence-based theories, consult with other experienced clinicians in the community, and to live out my professional values. I began pursuing my career as a therapist by obtaining my Master’s in Social Work (MSW) degree from the University of Texas at Austin. After graduating, I worked as a counselor at an Employee Assistance Program helping people solve problems that were interfering with their work and home lives. Soon after, I was fortunate enough to have an opportunity to pursue my dream of working in the field of Eating Disorders treatment and began my role as a therapist at Hill Country Recovery Center, where I ran the Intensive Outpatient Program and managed a caseload of individual clients. I then transitioned to my role as a Primary Therapist at Eating Recovery Center of Austin where I worked with clients struggling with severe eating disorders doing individual, family and group work. I have received special training in Perinatal (pregnancy and postpartum) Mood and Anxiety Disorders and love working with soon to be moms and new moms struggling with their transition to a new role and new responsibilities. You are not alone if you feel anxious, depressed, exhausted, inadequate and confused about how to fit a new baby into your existing life and sense of self. I am a Licensed Clinical Social Worker in the state of Texas (License No. 53056).
