After my son's birth, I was reeling from how well my birth journey went. I heard so many horror stories from friends and family about how their birthing days went. I was appalled for them. Most were pushed around by hospital staff, forced into unnecessary c-sections or just completely unaware of what options they had! I became determined to be an advocate for women who want to feel validated and that they can birth the way they choose. I want to be able to provide a beautiful experience, to anyone who desires it. Having my son empowered me to help other women have the birth of their dreams. I strive for a smooth, calm process, free from stress, judgement and fear. Whether it be at home, a birth center or hospital, all natural, medicated or planned c-sections, I believe that women should be able to do things their own way. Because each and every woman, birth and baby is different, I take pride in supporting you, however you choose to proceed. Asia Rikard is a Pacific Northwest native that has found her way to Orange County, California. She began her journey as birth and postpartum doula in 2016 through DONA and is committed to being a compassionate advocate to empower your pregnancy, birth, and postpartum experience. My paths in women's wellness and reproductive justice have led me to a passionate career in birth work. I believe birth is vulnerable & sacred and should be protected as so. My goal is to provide individualized care to be a trusted safe space for all birthing bodies and assist you in the amplification of your personal power while you journey to bring your baby earthside.

I believe in sacredness of coming into parenthood and want to protect it, so that it can unfold in an undisturbed way, as much as possible, and this includes pregnancy, birth, and the ever-so- vulnerable postpartum period. I also believe that the birthing person is the only one who has the authority to make decisions about their body and their baby because I know that those decision will be the best ones for them at that given moment. This leaves no space for judgment; only support and respect.

“I’m an IBCLC and Certified Nurse Midwife with an independent practice providing both full-scope midwifery care and comprehensive lactation services across hospital and community settings. My lactation work spans the full clinical spectrum—from establishing breastfeeding in the immediate postpartum period to managing complex feeding challenges such as low milk supply, delayed lactogenesis, post-cesarean lactation, and infants with dysregulated feeding patterns. I have extensive experience in detailed newborn oral evaluation, including identification and functional assessment of anomalies such as ankyloglossia. My holistic journey began professionally 10 years ago and has grown into a complete lifestyle and passion. As a birth worker I have attended 106 births in various settings including home, birth center, and hospitals. Throughout my own life’s journey starting at a very young three years old, I have both fallen deeply in love with all things holistic and gathered various skills that have made me the woman I am today. My intention is to teach women to know and understand their worth and individuality by providing them hope and confidence in themselves. By integrating my knowledge of both western medicine as well as complementary and alternative medicine I am able to initiate self-efficacy for women throughout their lifespan and birth experiences.
