Asia Rikard is a Pacific Northwest native that has found her way to Orange County, California. She began her journey as birth and postpartum doula in 2016 through DONA and is committed to being a compassionate advocate to empower your pregnancy, birth, and postpartum experience. With an education in intercultural peacebuilding (transformative mediation) and business she is prepared to create space and support for all birthing persons regardless of your circumstances and preferences. She has experience and training in prenatal and postpartum nutrition, trauma-informed care, acupressure, VBAC, home birth, babywearing, and twins/multiples. When she isn’t attending births and supporting through the postpartum period, Asia enjoys spending time with loved ones, swimming, hiking, enjoying live music, and baking homemade bread. She provides continuous physical, emotional, and informational support throughout pregnancy and labor, including prenatal visits, birth plan preparation, and labor attendance. She has specialized training in VBAC support, planned cesarean birth, acupressure, trauma-informed care, and twins/multiples. Postpartum Support Asia offers postpartum doula services in the first 12 weeks after birth, available as day shifts (4–8 hours) or overnight shifts (8 hours). I have worked closely with Asia for many years and in some very high-intensity, high-performing situations. While I may not have hired her as my doula on account of not being pregnant (because I'm a male) I can definitely recommend her on a professional level. Asia is a very positive and confident person, an intuitive listener, and a selfless caregiver. She is very knowledgeable and is able to deliver quality care and anticipate your needs. She is the type of person I refer my expecting patients to, and the right one for the job of helping you welcome your newest one into the world. I recommend Asia without any reservation or hesitation to anyone in the greater Austin area looking for a competent and confidence-instilling doula!
