I plan to give birth at the hospital and am hoping for an unmedicated birth with as few interventions as medically necessary. I’m looking for a doula who can help me stay calm and focused during labor, suggest different positions and movement, provide counter-pressure/massage and other comfort measures, help with breathing and relaxation techniques, and support my husband in knowing how to help me. I would also appreciate someone who can help me understand my options if decisions or interventions come up and remind me of my preferences when I’m in the middle of labor. My goal is a calm, low-intervention birth while still being flexible if something is medically necessary for me or baby. I’m unsure of my budget because this is my first time looking into doula services, so I’m still learning what typical pricing looks like

I’m looking to hire a doula for birthing and labor support. This will be my 4th time giving birth. My partner has a very hectic schedule and there is a big potential he won’t be able to make it to the birth. I need to ensure that I have support during my labor. My husband and I are in search of a night doula/nanny to assist us with our 3 boys under 3. We have a 14m old who has never slept through the night, so any help with sleep training would be amazing. But aside from that, assistance with our newborn is the main criteria to allow us to be as well rested as possible enabling us to be the best parents we can be. I am attempting to nurse and pump, so having someone tag teaming feeding a bottle while I pump or helping me get him to sleep in the bassinet is very much desired.

Hi! I’m a first-time mom due April 16 and planning to deliver at a hospital in the Raleigh area. I’m starting my search for a birth doula and am especially interested in someone experienced, calm, warm, and very grounding. I’m naturally an anxious person, and pregnancy has definitely heightened some of my fears around birth, medical complications, pain, and the unpredictability of labor. One of the biggest reasons I want a doula is to have someone experienced by my side who can help me stay calm and present, explain what’s happening when things feel overwhelming, help me advocate for myself and ask the right questions, and remind me of my options if plans need to change. I respond really well to reassurance and clear information, and I’m looking for someone who brings a steady, confident energy into the room rather than adding to the intensity. I’ve also been very intentional about preparing physically. I’ve strength trained consistently for years and am continuing to stay active during pregnancy as I’m able. I’m working on my breathing, deep core and pelvic floor awareness, and I’m really interested in learning how to prepare my body for labor and recovery. I’m still early in pregnancy and developing my birth preferences, so I’m not attached to having one specific “perfect” type of birth. What matters most to me is feeling safe, informed, supported and respected throughout the process. I’d love a doula who is knowledgeable about both physiologic birth and hospital births/interventions and who will support my decisions without judgment if my preferences change during labor. My boyfriend will also be very involved in the birth and in choosing our doula. It’s important to me that our doula works well with both of us and helps him feel confident supporting me rather than replacing his role. Ultimately, I’m looking for someone I genuinely connect with and can trust during what I know will be a very vulnerable experience. Experience is important to me, but so is personality and chemistry.
