Hello, and thank you for visiting my page! My name is Ronae (pronounced like the more commonly spelled "Renee"), and I am a Certified Birth Doula and Certified Lactation Specialist located in Fort Wayne, IN. I have always been passionate about serving and encouraging other women. Through my own parenting journey over the years, I have developed an avid interest in all things birth and breastfeeding. I have been a certified Birth Doula since 2020 through ICEA and Global Birth Community and have been a Certified Lactation Specialist (CLS through LEC) since 2021. I have experience in supporting births in hospitals, in birth centers, and at home. I believe that women have a right to nonjudgmental encouragement and support throughout their birth story, whatever they choose and wherever it takes them. I feel it is especially important for birth workers to empower women to understand their options in pregnancy and birth so they are able to provide true informed consent, playing an active role in their pregnancy, birth, and postpartum experiences.
The “Birth Encouraged” basic doula support package includes: • Two in-home prenatal consultations to discuss your birth preferences, practice comfort measures for labor, and solidify a birth plan • Continuous physical and emotional support throughout active labor and immediately postpartum • Two complimentary postpartum Lactation Consultations which include breastfeeding assessments and support, weight checks, and specialized referrals if necessary
Aimed at providing additional postpartum support, the “Mothering the Mother” package includes: • All of the support included in my “Birth Encouraged” Basic Package (see above) PLUS • Extending one of the scheduled postpartum visits to include a relaxing and healing postpartum herbal bath • Your choice of two postpartum nourishment options from Cocina Cura delivered by me at one of your postpartum visits
This appointment (up to 2 hours) is available to address additional lactation needs, including: • Questions about baby latch and positioning • Make a plan for breastfeeding and going back to work • Help developing a plan for increasing your supply • Help developing a plan for weaning I can bring my baby scale with me to do a weighted feed and can provide further referrals for additional resources if necessary.
In addition to my "Birth Encouraged" and "Mothering the Mother" package options, I offer additional specialized appointments ($50/each) that can be added to create a curated bundle of preparation and support for your family: • Helping Prepare Big-Siblings-To-Be • Birth Prep for Additional Birth Support People • Postpartum Planning • Help Choosing and Using Your Baby Carriers
As a birth doula, I offer nonjudgmental and evidence-based birth support for many kinds of births: Home births, birth center births, hospital births (including natural birth, high-risk births, twins, c-section, and VBAC), and surrogacy births. Through my own birth experiences and through accompanying dozens of other women on this sacred journey, I have deepened my passion for and knowledge of supporting growing families. I have also been supporting women in their lactation journeys since 2014, and believe that all women deserve access to the support and education they need in order to meet their breastfeeding goals.
We decided to have our fourth child late in life and hired Ronae as our doula, it was the best decision we made! Ronae was knowledgeable and a great resource planning our labor and delivery. Her guidance, reassurance, and attentive presence made the experience smoother and more empowering. We couldn’t have asked for a better partner through this pivotal moment in our lives.
