I will be delivering at Pomona Valley or Huntington Pasadena, likely in December, possibly early January. I am insured by IEHP Direct through Medi-Cal. I want as natural birth as possible in the sense that I only want medical intervention if it is absolutely necessary (no induction, no episiotomy etc). I am going in expecting to need an epidural but am also open to the idea of being unmedicated. I am looking for someone to assist with pain management and advocacy while in labor and for education in early/postpartum care for my baby (tips/tricks/lactation/mama stomach wrapping). I would like someone with no less than 3 years of experience and is possibly able to assist with postpartum care at home.

Hi! I’m a 21-year-old married mom of a 2-year-old, currently pregnant with my second baby and going through a separation from my husband. I’m a Christian, and I’m really looking for a doula who can support me physically, emotionally, and spiritually throughout this pregnancy and birth. I’m hoping to have an unmedicated, natural birth and would love to learn breathing techniques, labor positions, and different coping strategies to help me prepare. I’m honestly scared, and one of my biggest goals is to have a positive birth experience and to avoid tearing entirely if possible. I want to learn everything I can to prepare my body and reduce my risk of tearing. I also want to learn more about nutrition during pregnancy, including organic foods and understanding healthy versus less-healthy carbohydrates. I plan to breastfeed again and would love support with preparing for that as well. I also have questions about healthy weight management during pregnancy and postpartum and would love guidance on how to safely care for my body while making sure my baby is properly nourished. My husband and I are separated, but I would like him to be able to learn how to support me during pregnancy and birth if he is willing. I would appreciate a doula who can help educate both of us on what genuine, respectful support can look like during labor and delivery. As a Black mother and woman, I’m also very aware of the disparities and racism Black women can face within the healthcare system. Having someone who can advocate for me, help me understand my options, and make sure my voice is heard and respected during such a vulnerable experience is extremely important to me. I really want to feel safe, informed, empowered, and supported throughout this journey.

This will be my first birth. I don't like the idea of giving birth in a hospital. I'd like a home water birth. I'm not sure about budget or at what it starts. I want to prep my body so birth is not a horrible experience. I'd prefer someone with many years of experience, at least 5. And speaks English and Spanish. I'm 28 years old and I'd like to have a postpartum plan to include healthy eating habits and exercise.

I plan to give birth at a hospital. I do not have a budget specified for this—not sure what the cost range is. Because of previous surgery, I anticipate I will have a c-section, but would like to deliver vaginally if possible. We are expecting our first baby around March 2, 2027 and are looking for overnight newborn support approximately 2 nights per week for the first 8–12 weeks postpartum. Ideally, we would like 10–12 hour overnight shifts and can be somewhat flexible on which two nights each week. Our main priority is safe, experienced newborn care overnight so we can get meaningful rest. We are looking for someone who is comfortable with feeding support, diaper changes, burping, soothing, settling the baby back to sleep, bottle washing/prep, and helping establish healthy newborn sleep habits when developmentally appropriate. We are open to either an experienced postpartum doula or Newborn Care Specialist and would prefer someone with newborn-specific training, CPR certification, strong references, and several years of experience. We are not looking for heavy housekeeping or cooking. Baby-related cleanup and light bottle/laundry support would be helpful. We are currently comparing providers and would like to understand your hourly or overnight rate, minimum shift requirements, and any package pricing for recurring 2-night-per-week support.
