I come from the Maya Ch’ortí, Lenca, and Garífuna/Garínagu Indigenous & Afroindigenous peoples of Honduras through my father’s side. I also carry Northwestern European heritage, namely German, Celtic & Norwegian. My birthwork is deeply rooted in my spiritual practice through my Mesoamerican and Afro-Caribbean upbringing. I believe that birth is a sacred ceremony and rite of passage, and it is a true honor to support you and your family throughout all stages of this journey. Hello, my name is Amanda Hercules, I am a certified international pediatric sleep coach. I am also a foster parent here in the state of Washington. I have been working in childcare since I was 18. As a nanny, a household manager, a nanny share, and a tutor. I have a lot of experience with multiples and with multiple children in the house. In 2019 I got certified as a postpartum doula and began working with local families in their postpartum stage. I was primarily a night doula, and this paired with my years-long work in childcare I learned a lot about sleep. In 2024 I was certified an international pediatric sleep coach, and I am excited to help families on this journey. I am here to provide you with facts and support. I love my job! Supporting parents through labor, birth and postpartum is amazing, and rewarding, and what I feel called to do. I am a birth and postpartum doula, as well as a childbirth educator and a lactation educator. Having an understanding of your options is a big part of preventing birth trauma. Educating parents about how they can better navigate their labor and the medical system is a big part of what I do. I support folks emotionally, physically, with information/resources, and with advocacy (and photo documentation of their labor). We usually have some fun too!
