About me

Hello! My name is Shannon Anderson. I am the owner of Holding a Mother’s Hand, LLC and I am a Certified Postpartum Doula located in Queen Creek, AZ. I am from Phoenix, AZ and a mom to 4 amazing children and have been married to my best friend for almost 16 years now. I am very passionate about birth and postpartum, and always striving to learn more! I grew up with lots of children and babies and had always known I wanted to be someone that helped cared for children and/or babies. Being a postpartum doula and getting to help mom‘s and the family with their new little one is such a joy in my life. My practice creates a judgment-free zone for all parents seeking informational and emotional support. In my free time, I enjoy going to the lake with my family, riding quads, camping and of course playing with my sweet little grandbabies.

Shannon is incredibly talented at making new parents feel at ease during something as challenging as new parenthood. We hired her for nighttime support for 6 weeks and it was the best decision for our family. She listens with intention, offers advice when it's needed, was very punctual and communicative, and was just the help we needed. If you're on the fence about hiring, don't be, I would recommend her services to anyone who might need a little help!

We are so beyond grateful for Shannon and everything she did for our family. From the moment she came into our home, she brought such a calm, supportive energy. She was incredibly gentle and loving with our daughter someone we could trust completely, which gave us so much peace of mind during those early, exhausting nights. Shannon didn’t just care for our baby, she cared for our whole home. She helped tremendously with things like folding laundry, washing bottles and breast pump parts, and stepping in wherever we needed always without hesitation. She never tried to correct us or question our choices, and that made such a difference. We always felt supported, never judged. It truly felt like having an extra heart and pair of hands in the house. Shannon will always hold a special place in our story, and I can’t recommend her enough to any new family looking for kind, trustworthy, and genuinely helpful support during those tender first nights. She’s truly one of a kind.

Birth/postpartum doula, Shannon! Pregnancy, birth and the months that follow can bring so many different challenges into our lives and can birth many uncertainties and fears. Going through this major life changing moment alone can be terrifying! But, instead of fear I was blessed with having Shannon in my life as my doula! The genuine caring, love, support and knowledge you gave greatly surpassed my expectations! When I had no one, you were there and having you by my side in the operating room to do a c-section had calmed my anxiety which in turn allowed me to experience the joy of my newborn coming into this world!! I know that anyone who is considering you as their doula would be blessed beyond Measure!! You made it easy! Thank you for all you’ve done for me and my babies!
