Deliveries are often induced, creating a faster paced timeline that can make communication between mom and baby more confusing and difficult. Taking time to slow down and listen deeply to your baby, your partner and yourself can be immensely rewarding. It is not what we normally do, so having a guide is helpful. I am a postpartum doula with over 20 years of experience as a certified nurse-midwife in Japan. Throughout my career, I have been dedicated to supporting mothers, newborns, fathers, and other family members. I am also an International Board Certified Lactation Consultant (IBCLC) since 2007, with a strong passion for assisting mothers with breastfeeding. Additionally, I hold a Master of Arts in Psychology and have worked as a certified public psychologist in Japan, focusing specifically on the prevention of perinatal depression. Every mother-baby dyad is unique which is why it can be so important to have a lactation consultant that can come up with a feeding plan that works best for you.
