-hospital birth - budget is $1200 -I have midwife at Providence in Everett. I am wanting an epidural for my birth. This is my first child so I am nervous for my birth.

Just found out I'm pregnant, and I'm looking for a doula who can be by my side during prenatal and during birth. My husband gets queasy and faints at the sight of blood, so I need an active helper by my side! I hope to give birth at the Everett Providence Hospital vaginally with pain relief meds, but I do want centering and holistic birthing practices used as well. I'm only 6 weeks pregnant, so I don't have too many details figured out, but with this being my first pregnancy, having a large support team is important to me. I would like to establish a relationship with a doula before birth so that I know somewhat what to expect in care during birth and post-birth. I am also interested in home visits post-taking the baby home so that I can make sure I can shower and such while the baby is looked after. We are looking for a warm, reliable, and experienced postpartum doula to help support our family after the arrival of our baby. We would ideally like someone with postpartum doula training or certification and several years of experience caring for newborns. Current infant CPR and First Aid certification is strongly preferred, along with excellent references and a background check. We are looking for someone who is confident with newborn care, including diapering, soothing, bottle feeding, burping, safe sleep practices, and helping establish healthy newborn sleep routines. Experience supporting formula feeding would be a plus. We want someone who is supportive of our choices and takes a calm, nonjudgmental approach to caring for our baby. Most importantly, we are looking for someone who is trustworthy, patient, dependable, and easy to have in our home. We would love a doula who can provide guidance when we need it while also respecting our preferences and helping us become more confident as new parents. Our estimated budget is $35–$50 per hour, depending on experience, certifications, responsibilities. We are open to discussing rates with the right person.

My OB says there is a 20% chance she'll be in the room for delivery, apparently that's average. I want someone in the room who is there to uphold my wishes and birth plan. I want a natural birth. I funny want to clamp the cord until it spots pulsing. I'm on the fence about vitamin k. I don't want my baby to be bathed right away, or taken from me. I don't consent to the eye treatment they put on baby, or any vaccines. We are planning to give birth at Overlake Medical Center in Bellevue and are looking for postpartum doula support to help us transition into life with our new baby. We are hoping to utilize our insurance benefits for postpartum doula services, so we would prefer a provider who is experienced with insurance reimbursement or can provide the necessary documentation for us to submit to insurance. Our main priorities are practical, hands-on support during the postpartum period. Help with light cleaning, tidying, laundry, and especially preparing simple, nutritious meals would be greatly appreciated. We would also value guidance and support as new parents, including newborn care, feeding support, establishing routines, and general postpartum education. We are looking for a certified and experienced postpartum doula who is warm, patient, reliable, and comfortable working with new parents. We are open to different levels of experience and would appreciate someone who can communicate clearly in English. Additional language skills are a plus but are not required. The care recipient will be our newborn baby, along with support for the birthing parent during postpartum recovery.
